| Almost lost my baby Was at home and I didn't close the patio door all the way. Little Miss Thing manages to squeeze out. It was about 30 minutes or so before I noticed she was missing. I thought she was asleep under the bed. Needless to say I went into full panic mode. Thank God she came running when I called her. I called her for about 3-4 minutes before she appeared out of nowhere. She's looking up at me like "what are you yelling at...I'm right here" The messed up part was she didn't have her tags own as I just finished giving her a bath. This is the second time this has happened. The first time was when the painters left the door open while bringing in the ladder and then this time. I live on a cul de sac and Brandi knows where she lives so each time she never went any further then next door. Also she likes to sniff every blade of grass so she never gets very far. Boy did I hugged are so hard she almost popped. |

| I know that awful feeling just from mine not being visible and behind a bush or clump of grass in her yard. It's a terrible feeling. I'm so glad she is safe!

| I am so glad that she came running. Hug her for me too. Panic is horrible ! One feels so helpless and the at the same time an urgency to do something. I know that awful feeling when your heart pounds, your mouth goes dry, and your stomach rolls, then drops like a broken elevator ! Panic is a dreadful feeling, all the messages in the brain scramble for attention, overwhelmed, it just wants to shut down in a faint. Emotion whirls like slushy mix in a blender, fear, anger, guilt, then back again. No wonder doctors say stress shortens our life ! I think the slang saying, 'you scared the life out of me !' is very true !

| I'm so glad she was close and was missed & looked for before she had time to even think about wandering. Congrats on getting your little baby back. I've been right where you are once or twice & found my little one in the front yard waiting for me!!! Scared me silly! Wanted to call 911 & get family & friends over NOW to help search in the first few seconds as the mind just goes wild! Call 911 for a lost dog?!?! But, each time I found him out front either on the porch or beside the house up against the back fence sniffing out interesting smells. Like you, I nearly hugged him into a "teacup"!!!

| Thank goodness she didn't stray far. I have gotten that panic feeling too. I'm yelling "Ahi!! Ahi girl! Where are you??" and if I just shut my mouth and turned around she is on my heel.(She always likes to follow behind me) I felt so relieved and stupid. My little munchkin doesn't make noises but for the most part she comes when I call her. Give her hugs from us too. I bet you will be double checking that sliding door from now on.

YT Addict | I DID lose one of my babies several years ago that way. My husband forgot something in the house.....ran back in.........left the door open.......ran back out.......got in the car and left. Nobody was home at the time. When I got home that night and called out to my babies...........only one of them was there. I was heartbroken.........put up posters and checked the Pound every day for weeks, but "Sport" was gone . Then several years later, I left a door open, Rookie got out and I didn't even realize it until he was scratching at the door 3 hours later I thought he was up in our room sleeping. Another time, my son didn't pull the door closed all the way before he left the house and Rookie got out AGAIN! This time, my neighbor saw him and literally chased him back in the house (he isn't very friendly). Needless to say, since those incidents all those years ago, I am paranoid!!! One of the last things I say to my husband before I leave to go anywhere is "Make sure you shut the door and my babies don't get out"!!!! Sorry to ramble on and on..............I'm SO happy you got your baby back!!!!

YT Addict | Just thought I would mention.................since I already rambled on and on in my last post..............I have a "bell" on Rylee Belle because I am so paranoid now. In fact.........recently I took the bell off because if was all scratched up. My mother asked me to PLEASE put it back on because she would get so worried when she didn't hear the "jingle bell" as she calls it!
