| Loose stools Hi i was wondering what i need to do to help my furbaby get over his diarrhea. He has only done it last night and once a couple days ago. on thursday (the first day i noticed it) he was in the car alot running arrends with me. this morning when i got him out of his crate it was on the floor outside the crate, on the crate door, and on the towl in the crate. the stuff on the floor and door was like watery but the stuff on the towel was soft but not watery. I have not changed food or anything and he doesnt get any human food and didnt have any treats since tuesday. anything will help. Also was wondering for the last week he has gone been getting out of his crate in the morning and has pooped in his crate ( not loose just poop) and he had been doing fine with sleeping all night and not having an accident. I have been taking him out at night (ever since it got warm) and letting him run on a cable for an hour to get out energy and to pee and poo. He had been doing fine up until like wednesday. I dont know why he is doing it he goes ot at 9pm and comes in anywhere from 10:10 to 10:30pm and goes directly into his crate so i wouldnt think that it is that he has to much water since he is outside for that hour to hour and half to pee and poo and run off some energy. He also gets a cup of food a day and his bowl is left on the floor so he can eat when he wants. advice please

| Is this a yorkie ? How much does he weigh? A whole cup of food per day sounds like a lot to me. That could be what is bothering his tummy. Has he always eaten this amount? Maybe the best would be to speak to your vet. Who know what could be causing the problem hope he feels better soon. |

but it just sounds like a lot of food especially for a little 5 pound guy. My boy is 7 pounds , he is on raw food diet now but when he was on kibble he got 1/2 per day.. Maybe you could try a scheduled feeding . Give him 1/4 cup 3 times per day... See if that works better for him... | |

| if the runs continue try a half an immodium perhaps he is stressed in the crate and the anxiety causes him to have the runs. But a vet check could be in order |

| Try feeding a tablespoon of pure canned pumpkin 3 times a day with food. If it continues pls check with the vet.

| Pumpkin has worked for Rosie. However, I would call my vet to be on the safe side. Loose stools can turn into something more serious if left untreated. My Rosie is 5 1/2 lb. She had diarrhea one day and then the next day. By the time I got her to the vet she was in pretty critical shape. I have learned a lot since then and know how important it is to get her treated. Please contact your vet and make sure this sweet furbaby is ok.
