| Yorkie Scam Warning Warning for Craigslist and Kijiji (and likely other sites): As you might be looking for a new Yorkie: Be aware of individuals who email to tell you they have a "free pet" for your "loving home." They will live elsewhere (Quebec, Alberta, Halifax in Canada) and claim that they need your name, address, nearest airport, and phone number. They will request a "minimal fee" for delivery but otherwise say they will give you a free puppy (Suzi, Max, or another name). They will include FAKE photographs of Yorkie puppies, including photos with people. Beware. They use multiple hotmail or other email accounts and usually reply to "Wanted" ads such as the following: Interested in female Yorkie for her forever home. Prefer registered breeder who knows about Yorkshire Terriers but am happy to speak with owners. **BEWARE** They are scammers trying to take advantage of loving hearts. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | scam well I'm sad to say that I almost fell for it! I was so eager to have a yorkie that I almost sent money to those awful people we talked for hours for nothing! I was lead to belive that all they wanted was a loving home for their dog, and for a small fee they would send me the puppy. thank god for my good friends that told me about this scam they said they had seen it on 20/20 so when I got back home I confronted them it endeed up they were from kenya and once they knew they wern't getting any money from me they started harassing me and threatning me I was a little scared but I'm glad I didn't fall for their stupid scam!

| I have a dear friend who lost her life savings to a scam like that. She was recently widowed and gave them to much info . Its horrible how many of these scammers there are out there.

| After reading your post I went to craigs list to see what was on there. There were no less than 8 posts by people wanting to adopt Yorkies. There was also a post by someone who stated they had a "tea cup" Yorkie that they had sold to an overseas buyer who now wants to "re home" the puppy. I believe that craigs list does not allow people to actually sell dogs so I am assuming that this is a scam to get money from someone who will fork out money to send this puppy to their nearest airport. I hope this character gets stopped before someone falls for it. |
