| LOL.... Love it!!! So we have a cat that likes to use our couch as a scratching post.Every time I see our cat scratching I'll clap my hands and say his name real loud. Gabby figured out I do not want our cat scratching the couch. So now every time Gabby catches our cat doing this she will bark and ran after him. That's my baby...lol |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | That's amazing. And a great example of a time when barking is OK.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Yeah, that can be a tough thing to teach a little dog. It's a defense mechanism. I've had some luck teaching them to "speak" on command first so they know what it is, then teaching "no bark." Eddie now loves the no bark trick because he doesn't have to do anything to get a treat.

| That is really cute Sugar is a big communicator through barking. She tattles on the kids I watch when they won't share what she feels is hers and also tells me when her treat is sufficiently hidden and it's time for me to go find it and also if I'm 10 minutes late for dinner

| Tyson knows the cat is not allowed on the bed. He barks like crazy if the cat gets on...no matter the time of day or night! |
