I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I thought England’s rules were very similar to ours, not positive I'm converting kilograms right, but I think your girl weighs around 11 pounds and your boy weighs around 7 pounds? The Yorkshire Terrier Club of American says that weight must not exceed 7 pounds or 3.17514659 kilograms. There is no classification for different sizes. The poodle has three classifications "Standard" "Miniature" and "Toy", however the Yorkie only has one classification and that is "Toy". How old is your female? I'm not clear as to why you think this is dangerous.

| You need to research and prepare for the whelping. The Deb Jennings site is a good one. She could be adequate size to whelp and you could be very prepared for the whelp and yet something still could go terrible wrong that is the risk you take when you breed. You will have to help her whelp small breeds dont whelp on their own. You will need to tie cords and stimulate new pups to breathe. This takes your time devotion and you have to know what you are doing

| Having puppies is always scary. So much can go wrong. I think it might be wise to have a vet confirm the preg. and have her/ him on standby. Your Vet may even know a local breeder that could help you with the delivery ( A dog-midwife). Everyone on YT will help how we can, but I think you need some one right there with you. I also suggest you may want the Vet to do a C-section and spay if that is affordable, safe and practical. Best Wishes

| Totally OT but I always thought it'd be neat to have different size Yorkies, like Schnauzers and Poodles.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | LOL, I'd be afraid of a 70 pound Yorkie.

| I took my girl the vet today and she has been weighed she is 5.7kg she is 3 years old and is only very early in the pregnancy so was told to come back in a few weeks and they can scan her I was just a bit worried cause didn't think my baby boy would of been able to get her pregnant cause he is so s small to her he weights just 3kg I now have time to look up as much information about bring these babies in to the world but I must admit I am very scared and might have to just call someone for professional help I wouldn't be very good in that situation if something went wrong I am gutted she is having puppies as I think people who don't know what there doing should leave it to someone who knows when she has her babies I am going to get her done x x thank you all for your help xx |
