| Spaying what age Ehat is the best age to have my girls spayed. I have heard different things as in. Best to let her have a season first. Or dont let her have a season first. Also let her have a litter first ( this is not happening). Also when does she have her first season? Any advice would be appreciated.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yorkies generally come into first heat between 8-13 months. My preference is to wait until they are close to one year if possible, before their first heat. With males I would wait until after a year old if possible. Having a litter first or allowing a heat cycle before spaying are not recommended by vets.

| You can cut out the risk of them getting certain cancers as well as lessen the risk of others if you do it before there first heat. I would never do it younger then 6 months though.

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | It's usually best to get them spayed before their first heat. I kept putting Poppy's spay off because I was so worried about anything ever happening to her so she was spayed at about a year old after her first and only heat, but I do wish I had done it before her first heat because she did end up having a phantom pregnancy which wasn't pleasant.
