| Help! So on Easter Bentley was with us over at my In-Laws house. there was about 14 people there, They have a dog Nickel who is a cockapoo and about 5 years old. Well he is super friendly he was in the house, I took Bentley out of his Kennel and put him in the grass out back to go potty , he went and went to sniff the grass and out of nowhere Nickel comes running out the doggy door and attacks bentley! No blood or anything he was growling and pushing poor bentley around I was screaming trying to get nickel off Bentley and my Father inlaw came running I finally Kicked Nickel ( sorry but he was going to hurt my baby) and he got up and I grabbed Bentley and ran into to the house and slammed the door ( i was really ticked off) Bentley was fine and they put Nickel in his outdoor kennel, I put Bentley in his kennel and kept checking on him, but now he is scared of dogs ( can you blame him?!>) My mom just got a 9 week old puppy that is smaller then Bentley and i was holding bentley in one arm and the puppy in another (supposed to be a Biewer but I don't belive it) and Bentley went crazy! and then i took bentley outside to potty and Bentley went after my mom's Min Pin Which he's never done before I dont know how to undo this, or if it can even been undone, do any of you have any suggestions on how I can help Bentley get over the fear now? |

| Poor Bentley. Maybe some no pressure socialization. With an older dog that will just ignore him. That might get him more comfortable. If not I know a lot of training classes help with situations like this. Good luck, poor baby, who could blame him.

well i guess we won't know for sure if this will pass until bentley has gotten over the trauma. i would just give him some time hopefully he will forget. you could try introducing him to his friends for short visits and hopefully he will feel safe again | |

| Thanks Everyone, He still loves and chases JAeger, but I guess that's different since it's his brother, I called my trainer that I used for Jaeger with all his training to get his Therapy title classes done and she is going to have me come up to the petstore and bring her dog that is an 8 year old lab who just ignores all dogs and lays around like a couch potato, and we will go from there.. I'm still so upset over the whole situation poor Bentley.. |
