| Is my yorkie purebred? I recently purchased my Yorkie Leya, and the breeder told me she was purebred. I guess I shoulde done my research before I got her because it seems to me she isnt. Ive looked up different mixes and each one has at least one picture that looks like her so Im kind of unsure now. Please let me know what you all think. Its not really going to matter at the end of the day cause i love her, but I just want to have an idea of what she might be mixed with. Thanks |

| She looks all yorkie did you see her pedigree. I dont think the reeder would tell you she was pure if she was mixed. It happens however not often

| I didnt see her parents as the seller told me her mom was in Vancouver and the dad was a friends dog but she did send me a picture of her mom and she is Yorkie. Ive sent her a message since but she doesnt reply anymore. My yorkie only cost me $625 which is very cheap compared to others. |

| Leya looks all Yorkie to me. She is cute. She reminds me of my late Lizzie as a puppy.

HI , IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW JUST FOR CURIOUSITY SAKE WHETHER OR NOT SHE IS DEFINITELY PUREBRED YOU COULD DO A DNA TEST. I USED THIS KIT FOR MY SHIH TZU / POODLE MIX AND IT WAS NOT TOO EXPENSIVE AND FAST.. I THOUGHT IT WAS ACCURATE AS WELL.... Canine HeritageŽ Breed Test | |

| How old is she? I recently saw for the first time although I have seen pictures, something called a red leg yorkie. They have yorkie colours, stay dark I believe but don't grow coat. From the picture it kind of looks like yours could be a red leg. You paid a reasonable price as it is about half what would usually be charged if you get the registration certificate which you should be getting if it is sold as purebred. |

| Im just not sure if its purebred, because her nose comes out more then other yorkies, her ears dont stick up, and her hair isnt as puffy. i almost think shes half jack russell but i dont know. |

| what's making you question her not being a purebred? Leya reminds me of our Gabby.I am not to familiar with yorkies just yet. This is my first dog I have ever had.If I'm not mistaking Heide had so many days to register Gabby with the Continental Kennel Club.I believe a wk later we received her certificate of registration which states she is purebred and her certified pedigree certificate. |

| Im just questioning it cause she doesnt have certain features of a yorkie puppy. The only feature she really has are the colors and her size right now but shes only 8 weeks old. |

| the red leg yorkie I saw on the weekend is exactly what I wondered, part Jack Russell until my friend and mentor took one look at the dog and said that is a purebred yorkie but it is the red leg. Red leg is what is used to describe the yorkie that has thrown way back into the broken coated terrier that made up the Yorkie breed. |
