| Never went potty outside Gabby is now 17 months old and when she came home at 8wks old it was way to cold to train her to go outside. When the weather started warming up Heide and I said well should we train her and we thought well she knows where to go potty now why take the risk of having her start going potty everywhere in the house. So as of now she has never went potty outside ever.We have driven 3 hrs away and she still will not go outside once we get out of the car,i'll take her for walks, playing at the parks, but as soon as we get to where her training pad is she will go.The positive's are we never have to let her out in the rain, cold and during the night. It just seems weird to have a dog that will not or has not went to bathroom outside. |

| ZoE had never pottied outside until she was 11 months old! Then, it was only because she was outside for hours on Halloween night, while we were handing out candy to trick or treaters. She squated & peed and then looked at me like she'd done something wrong and when I told her good girl, she looked so confused...lol She's still never pooped outside, and she's 16 months old.

| Bella poops on pee pads majority of the time. First thing in the morning I take her out for potty, she will pee then come in run to pad and poop. LOL Now the other morning she had to pee so bad, she ran to the pad and pee'd. I was so proud of her. |

| Potty on Pads My Lola was trained to only go on pads like yours because I lived in apartment. Little my little she started to smell and go outside but I did not praise her because I still want her to go on pads when it is cold, etc. She does both now but it took until she was more than 1 year. I think she smell outside will overwhelm her to eventually go outside. You can then decided whether you want her to only go outside. The only good thing is from what I read it is VERY hard to get a dog trained outside to go on pads but easier to go from pads to outside. Good luck. Sometimes I will take a pad with me and put it in the stall of a store bathroom and she will go on it when we are away for a long time. morrislaz |

| Hello~. Truffle came to our home at 8 weeks old and have been only pad girl, traveling to few hours away, she holds it till get to pad in private area... ( I even put pad in my car trunk and only once she peed on pad in trunk lol) I was worried if I let her start go out side to potty will change her pee pad in house or accidents start.... we've been taking her for walk everyday morning and evening( she usually potty before leave the house for walk) and finally she start go potty outside sometimes when we are out! now she is 6months old. also we just moved to 3 story townhouse and she has pads on each floors and so far she is wonderful . I almost give up on her go out side for potty but she did so you never know |

| I have the best of both worlds, Brandi pottys on her washable potty pads ( which I just got) and she pottys outside. It's seasonal though as she never goes out in the winter but in the spring and summer, we go for walks everyday and she has not problem with taking a squat. |

| The two I have now will potty outside and use the pad as well if the weather is bad. Out of all the Yorkies I have had over the years, I only had two that would not use potty pads, and would only go outside only. I like that I have the options of both outside and pads. I only put down pads if weather is bad and when I leave to go somewhere just in case they need it.

| Love YT !!!!! thanks for sharing your experiences. I just feel like a dog should know how to go potty outside, but then again Gabby is more than a dog to my wife and I.(lol) morrislaz, As far as Gabby and the scents outside,Gabby goes crazy when outside she will lay down on her belly in the grass and just lay there and smell for minutes and still never goes. appreciate your input (: |

| When I got Ralph he never went outside, he legit wouldnt go poo for 3 days! We had to go to the vet and the vet had to give him an anemia(spelling could be wrong) Ralph just rather go inside, we go outside for walks, and he will go out occasionally for potty breaks but he rather go inside! |
