| Booster seat..how bad is it to put the booster in the front seat? I think he would do so much better if the Pet Gear seat was in the front beside me. Right now it's in the very back seat of the minivan so I can't just stop the car and help him if he needs something. When the tether is too short he can hardly move around or jump up to see out the window. I changed the length/knot longer and he jumped out of the seat and just laid beside it! He couldn't go any further but obv it was too long. He does ok but starts whining after awhile. Or once when it was shorter he kinda got the tether under him and was stuck. Front seat would be nice although I would have to move it when people ride w/ me which is rare. Big worry is the air bag. Thoughts? Last edited by Charlie_Boy2011; 04-05-2012 at 11:19 PM. |

| I have my booster seat in the front seat...I know, I know. Buster stresses so bad if he's in the back, drives both of us crazy. The passenger air bag is off when he rides in the front seat. I have tried everything I can think of to keep him calm when he rides in the back but nothing works. Last year when I drove from Houston to FL, he literally screeched and screamed all the way to Mobile when I finally put him in my lap...and he was drugged.

Lovin' 2 Girls Donating Member | EXACTLY! Having him all the way in the back is inconvenient for you both; but much SAFER. The whole purpose for the seat is to keep him safe while traveling. I would suggest keeping the tether short (so he cannot get out); but at a length where he can lie down. Take short, regular trips around town until he gets accustomed to the seating situation. My guess is he will be OK in no time

| I had the problem with the seat you are talking about and Jack would jump out. I have a different one now and its higher up in the back and they can't nor dont try to get out. Its bigger too. |

| I'll have to see if I can turn the airbag off. Idk, I have modifications on my vehicle so a lot of the time these airbag lights are on regardless. I'll try to shorten strap again to a perfect length and take more short trips. It would be nice to have my buddy beside me, but I worry about risking injury too. |

| As long as you can shut your front passenger airbag off. I don't have that option on my current car, so ZoE rides in the back. She's over a year old now though, so she is used to it.
