| Depends on the area you live as far as rate goes. I found Trupanion to have the best coverage for lifetime of dog but then cancelled after 2 1/2 years because it didn't work quite as well as I thought, I started a tax free savings account with $90 a month in it for dogs only |

| When I got Teegy I got trupanion it was $46 a month then a year later they bumped it to $69 a month. So in order to keep it in my budget I ha to take a large deductible. Came time to put it to work and on a large vet bill I got $150 back because little things that add upp aren't covered and the large deductible. I cancelled and opened and ING tax free savings account. I have my second boy Tufty coming home in two weeks so I have been putting $90 a month in the account. As explained to me by others. If you don't use it, at least YOU are makin interest on the money. And it will grow and be there fe your doggy needs that arise. Some folks on another thread mentioned something called credit care. |

| I have pet plan for all three of mine. It covers congenital problems, a lot of others do not. You have a choice of coverage and deductibles. |

| I have healthy paws, and it's been great so far. Sophia had a bout of stomach upset, causing us to go back to the vet every 2 or so weeks until we figured out what was wrong. Reimbursment is prompt! We have a 90% reimbursement and a $100 deductible and its about 32 a month. The only downside is that you fill out a form and the vet (or the receptionist) has to sign/stamp the paper. EVERYTIME I go to the receptionist, they always mention how none of the other insurances require this, and they always think it's strange. But, overall, I'm VERY happy with healthy paws

| I also have PetPlan on my little Roxi who was diagnosed with a genetic liver disease. PetPlan paid on all 3 sets of her bloodwork and her exploratory/liver biopsy. As stated above, you pick the level of coverage you need. I pay about $75 every 3 months...I have $100 deductible 90/10 (Specialty is 80/20).

| I got pet insurance for Riley the day I brought him home. I had Trupanion. I had a – 0 – Deductible and they reimbursed 90% of covered healthcare expenses, Minus the examination fees and routine preventative care. I forked out $187.50 in a 2-week period for examination fees for some ear infections Riley was having back in May, last year. The insurance started at $32.68/month in July of 2010 and on the 1-year date, it jumped to $43.77/month. I canceled it 2-months ago... Now I just have that $43.77 a month put into a Savings Account, which earns interest, which I have set aside for him. I also add $100.00 a month to that account… and he has his own Mastercard, so we should be okay in the event anything were to happen. |
