Potty training before last round of shots We are getting our little girl this week and she will be 11 weeks to 11 1/2 weeks (not sure which day we are picking her up yet. The breeder said she has had her first 2 rounds of shots but will need her 3rd round. Does this mean I can ONLY potty train on pee pads inside of my house and not even let her out in our own back yard? We have a fenced in backyard with no other dogs (my Mother in law's dachsunds used to live in it over 6 months ago but they were both healthy) BUT the neighbor's cat does sometimes hop the fence and come into the yard. Also if I do have to potty train strictly with puppy pads INSIDE my house for the first few weeks will this make it harder to potty train her to outside? I would love any advice! Thanks in advance!

If you let her out in your very own backyard i think she will be ok as far as the vax go. I am sure you already know this but remember not to let her out alone. Birds and even cats could be a danger to a tiny baby.. I don't think it would hurt to train her on potty pads and then outside.

Yes, it would make it harder to get her to be strictly outside trained if you started to pee pad train her at first. You should be safe to take her out in your back yard as long as no strange dogs are ever in there. Hope things go well for you!

Thank you! Should I be worried that the neighbors cat could bring something into the yard? Or am I overthinking this?

Ok thank you! I will be watching her VERY closely while she is outside! I just worried the cat could wander somewhere with parvo and then bring it in on it's paws or something.....probably very far fetched but I just wanted to ask! I have gotten so much awesome advice here!
