| My Protector! So some of you have seen this http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...odd-night.html Well last night after we all went to bed, I woke up to Peanut growling- Not really loud, but enough for him to wake me up. I thought to myself before I get him out I am going to look outside. We have a flood light in our backyard it lights up the whole yard and the enbankment/ hillside. I peeled the blinds up and what did I see!!!?? A freaking Coyote roaming in my yard, then I saw 2 up at the top of the slope on the other side of the chain-link !!! So I think I am safe to say maybe that is what Peanut felt the other night!!

| LoL Lucky you!! This is my first viewing of a Coyote around my house. I don't really like that he was in my backyard, but Peanut is never out alone so I am not too worried about it.

| That is scarey, only thing I found in the yard was a big raccoon sitting infront of the front door, and a huge possom when i say huge it was huge! bigger than my cat and 2 dogs my mom's chihuahua, the possum was on a pine knot limb we have leaning against the fence, it scared the crap out of me one night when I was talking my dogs out to do there duty, I did take pictures of the possum that night. |

| I just read your other thread, which I missed the first time around. I'm glad Peanut is ok. I hope you never let Peanut out in the yard by himself. Keep him safe.

| Wonderful! Just a couple of weeks ago, if it's been that long, a couple of big coyotes ran through the south end of our one-acre yard. Kacee and I were in the fenced yard and watched them. They ran around our neighbor's house and back in the direction they came from. Boy! Are they fast! They were nearly a half-mile away in no time and by then there were three of them running through a meadow.

| I'm glad you figured out what was bothering peanut. I'm also very glad he was inside safe and sound when you discovered them. Here in Nova Scotia they actually had (or may still have) a bounty on coyotes, we have a lot around here and have had several human attacks in the last year. It's scary stuff.

| It's not always something dangerous, nor does something bad always happen, but it is always something, in my experience. Peanut knows, but unfortunately doesn't know he'd be no match for them. Thank goodness you looked out the window and were able to see the problem Peanut was calling to your attention. The previous events were a warning all around. Good dog, Peanut! Good Mommy!
