| Ears with pics So I have read that you are supposed to trim the hair on their ears to help them stand up...I really think she is cute either way but they would stand some days and not others so I thought I would try....first, I had no idea where to trim to or what pattern so I just trimmed the hair on her ears and going up to the point. Now one ear is standing and then other is shaped weirdly. I dont remember it being shaped like that. And I will repeat she is beautiful either way but Im just wondering if it is normal will her ears always be misshaped. Or only one stand up and not the other. Did I not cut her hair right. I wasnt sure what part goes to her beard and topknot hair around the bottom of her ears so I left it. the pic with the pink bow is before the other two are after.

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | Oh my gosh, my little Max has the same problem! His ears were down at first and began standing up (both) at 4 months. We had him groomed into a puppy cut with the eras trimmed. One week after, one started to flop a little. My husband wants to tape it, but I like it. I will try to post a pic. Has anyone taped ears before?

Hope this helps...my Luma's ears were half-floppy when we picked her up and for the first couple days at home. Also because of the way the breeder was taping them, they were shaped weird. Thankfully they stand straight up now and we didn't have to tape them.

| Ears S- wanna try to get them together sometime mid april to play? I think they are gorgeous either way. Her little ears were trying so hard so i thought well o gues if its the weight of the hair then ille help them, if they dont stand up i dont mind. Thank u guys she is my sweet baby. The water bottle has really helped with biting me. I cant comvince my son not to let her chew on him and my daughter well cocoa loves any part of her she can find. She is being a better behaved puppy my only problem is she chewed the trim rubber like flooring molding stuff on underneath of cabinet into wood and ate it. I even cleaned it up and cleaned it down with vinegar because they arent supposed to like it. Well cocoa does! I came home with a humungous mess of it chewed up everywhere i only went to pick my daughter up. Im afraid it will hurt her along with tear up my cabinets isnt good

| OMG Millie did almost the same thing!!! I caught her chewing paint of my wall. I caught her and don't thinj she swallowed any of it. I will try the viniger because she tries to chew the corner of the cabinets, wall, or whatever else she can....LOL That will be good for me she goes back to the vet the26th of this month. I wanted her to go back to the vet before we got them together to play!!! |

This is not unusual at all, more than likely after teething, growth spurts etc., they will probably both stand!

| My CoCo's ears just started satnding about 2 weeks ago and she just turned 4 months on yesterday. I did read on here that some people were giving their babies a teaspoon fuul of cottege cheese to help with their ears, so I tried it and I have to say, CoCo's ears went right on up. One of her ears was nearly up when I started with the cottege cheese, an the other one went up right after. She has finished her small container of cottege chesse and her daddy doesn't want her to have anymore, so we'll see how she does. Floppy or standing, my baby is adorable!!! I prefer the ears standing with the tips flopping. tee hee |

Ok, so I read in another post about "Yorkie ears standing" that most of the time the reson the ears flop is because of teething. That the puppy's body will require more calcium during the teething stage for their new teeth to be formed - which would slow down the process of the ears standing because the ears also need calcium to stand. Now....I'll say again, this is something I read here on YT from some other posters. I tried it, and CoCo's ears are standing just fine now. Was it the cottege cheese or a coincidence? I'm not sure, but part of me wants to say that it helped. The cottege cheese didn't hurt her, upset her stomach or make her sick. It didn't even change the consistency of her BM's. I made sure to watch her closely during the time that I was feeding it to her. I only gave her one teaspoon full a day and it was with her serving of food. She loved it! Once her small container was empty, I didn't buy anymore. I'm expecting her ears will flop when she starts heavy teething and losing her baby teeth. | |
