| To dress or not to dress this is the question So I've been looking at doggy clothes and have seen such cute things but I always wonder if they are uncomfortable

| I don't think a dog would keep clothes on if they were uncomfortable... mine love getting dressed... makes them feel special!

| My two love their clothes...they wear at least a t-shirt most days. Dresses and fancier items are left for special occasions or going out.

| Mine wear clothes that are comfortable (think sweatshirts, jackets etc) for warmth. I don't do much dressing up for the fun of it, but it gets cold around here... so I know my two appreciate the warmth when we go to the park or on walks.

| Mine will 'fight' you to get into their clothes...will pull them out of your hands...will complain to 'our Daddy' if 'our Mommy' chooses 'our Sissy' to dress first...will help dress themselves by shoving their heads into the (usually wrong) hole in the garment...will struggle and/or 'fight' to keep them on when I start to remove them... lol If I don't plan to dress them...like when it is too hot...I cannot let them even 'see' the clothes. lol Also, they're so very proud of themselves all dressed up, and everyone just loves seeing them like that...even with just bows in their top knots. If the clothes do not fit properly or bind their movement, or are loose enough that they could get tangled up, I would not let them wear them...and mine only wear clothes with I am with them anyway.

| Because yorkies have no under coat like most dogs and are small they get cold more easily. Callie is 16 pounds but she can get cold pretty easily and I figure if I am going to have to dress her it might as well be cute. About comfort I rarely buy anything with velcro and if it does have velcro it is only for special occasions.

| My two only get to wear tshirts in the winter but I think they act better when they have them on. They get mad when we take them off so I know they are comfortable. |

| ZoE has hoodies, sweaters & coats for winter to keep warm. She has a couple of dresses for special occasions, but they're basically just for photo ops...she doesn't really wear them out. I confess, I'd feel like a total dork walking a dog in a dress in most public places, other than maybe a dog festival? I do however have quite a collection of matching harnesses & leads, with coordinating hair bows for ZoE. This way, she looks cute on walks, but I don't feel like I look like a crazy dog lady

| I put sweaters or jackets on them when the weather is really chilly or downright cold. I have on occasion put cute little dresses on them for Christmas pictures and such, but that's all. I like putting them in fancy harnesses instead.

| Tibbe is a free soul and cannot abide anything that is affixed to him except a collar and he's not overly happy to wear one of those. I do put sweaters on him to go outside when it is in the 20's in winter and he has borne with me in wearing his raincoat a time or two when it was positively pouring but otherwise, he's one Yorkie that hates clothes. But we live in Texas and it is pretty warm a good portion of the year.

| Mine dresses everyday, unless it is too hot. When I come in with a new dress, she gets excited and wants to see it, because she knows it is for her! They have to be dressed from the time they are tiny puppies to become accustomed to clothing. It is much too cold and too wet sometimes for her without clothes. The rest of the time, they are an adornment. They are such an adornment that she has a wardrobe of her own. Gotta have snowsuits for wintertime and rainsuits for rainy weather.

| There are some outfits out there that do look really uncomfortable- I think it is all up to the dog- if they are fine with it there is no harm in it. Armani HATES being in clothes, Chloe will wear them all day with no complaints. Make sure any clothes are not so tight they restrict motion or too loose so they become a hazard to them. Make sure they are weather appropriate- no heavy sweaters in the summer for example. Otherwise, I say have fun with it if the dog doesnt mind.

| I never thought of dressing a dog until I got Gracie. She gets cold very easily so I started getting her pajamas to wear around the house. Of course she had to have a jacket and a coat for outside wear. The wardrobe has grown over time. You might want to start with something loose fitting like a shirt or a dress. Gracie has long fur now but she has no problem wearing clothing. Someone gave her a cute fleece dress a few months ago and she loved it. It was less confining than her pajamas......kind of like having a sweater to wear around the house to stay warm. |

| Levi doesn't mind clothes at all, and he is a very rough-and-tumble pup. Most everything he has is very practical - T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, fleece pjs for cold weather. He doesn't wear clothes every day, even in the winter...and he still somehow has tons of them!
