| ### Aren't Yorkies Just Like People Concerning Weather? ### The last couple of days, it was dry, sunny and warm, breezy and Spring-like with the squirrels and birds and butterflies all out and about - and my Tibbe was on a tear, dashing about everywhere, up with the sun, insisting on going outiside every 15 minutes or so, watching out the windows front and back, barking at everything that moved and darting about the back yard like a hare, even escaping from the yard on one horrible occasion and he ate like a horse both days. He fairly bristled with vim and vigor and energy from the dawn until 8:30 p.m. or so both nights. He even got me all invigorated and I got much done the last two days. The weather just made you have to move and groove. Today, it is cloudy and cool, damp, rain coming and Tibbe hasn't budged except to go potty outside once and saunter slowly back in, lightly snack on some kibble, lap a bit of water and quickly dig himself a nice little "nest" in his Cloud 9 bed and plunge right back into it where he's been ever since. And this is mostly the way he will spend his day as I know from past experience. In rainy weather, Tibbe is 110% couch potato! Now that he's been outside and had a bit of nutrition, after a while, he will flip over onto his back on his little bed and lie spread-eagle as he snores away and there he will stay for hours until mid-afternoon when he will want to go potty and eat/drink a bit and then right back into bed. In rainy weather, that little dog can sleep like a college student! He reminds me of that droopy-eyed cartoon character on ?Looney Tunes? who is always trying to get back to sleep. On days like this, you can rouse Tibbe and even get him to play but as soon as you stop, he's right back to bed. I'm a lot like that in rainy weather myself - just want to quilt-cuddle and do as little as possible. Thankfully, in Texas we don't have many days like this or I wouldn't get much done and Tibbe would grow roots to his bed. Are your Yorkies affected by the weather like this? Is my dog just mirroring me or is it just their natural way to be more active in good weather, sleepy in bad or rainy weather?

| Yep!! Harry's the same - he's like a funny old man when the weather's rubbish - and he's only just over a year old.....!!! The only time he seems to really enjoy being outside during the winter is when it's very windy, or if there's snow on the ground. It seems to kind of invigorate him. But when it's dull and rainy and murky - he just wants to be a little Bed Bug with me...!!! Sally + Harry x |

| I agree!! My two don't even want to go outside if it's wet... We've had really nice weather recently and have just been leaving the front door open, and they've had a blast running in and out.
