| honey? My breeder told me that if jasper starts to get low sugar that I can give him karo syrup or honey and it will bring him right out of it. Can you really give a yorkie honey or will it harm him? If I can give him honey could I give him a little each morning just like nutrical?

| I wouldnt give any sugar source everyday they dont need it unless they are having a hypoglycemic episode. It also doesnt prevent hypoglycemia so it shouldnt be used as a preventative also it can cause diabetes if misused

| I wouldn't use honey, not recommended for human babies under 1 year...so not good for puppies. (bacterial issue I think) Only use Nutrical or Karo or pancake syrup if it's needed... puppies should eat enough to sustain them. If he continues to have hypoglycemic episodes, increase feedings and amounts and see your vet. Using it regularly can cause them not to eat enough, and always feed some sort of protein after using it.
