| Grooming Forum semi vacant atm So I moved it here What's the best trimmer? eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices I know I want this one because it's just so darn cute...but I am grooming both Yorkie and mini schnauzer here so I need a trimmer that can handle the work-preferably the first time. My groomer suggested her trimmer but do I really need to spend $200? I'd love to get names and links of what you all are using and prefer with any pro con comments too please. I refuse scissoring my dogs are not that great about being groomed and I'm too clumsy to really trust myself.

| I dunno what's the best trimmer...but I understand the question well. I went through months of searching and reading and posting in forums to try to figure it out and still don't know...or have clippers and/or trimmers...except what I already had. I would love to find out tho!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Don't waste your money on the Oster trimmer you've pictured. I've got one and don't ever use it because it's not very good for a small trimmer. The blade on this trimmer is too wide and is not a very good quality. The Wahl Peanut is much better and the cost is comparable to the Oster. For larger trimmers, I use an Oster PowerMax or the Golden A-5. The PowerMax is quieter, cheaper and IMO, is a better trimmer than the A-5, especially for at home grooming my yorkies and poodle. Professional groomers would probably prefer either the A-5 from Oster or the Andis equivalent.

| I had all my research neatly organized...then my storage drive died... I do remember the Wahl Peanut being highly recommended, now that you mentioned it...and I had one in my (cookie) 'cart' on my now defunct hard drive. I was looking at Andis models for bigger clippers, but I forget which ones...so I'd have to start over with that...and ceramic blades, so they'd stay sharp and cool. Plus, I also was interested in a cordless rechargeable but wanted to make sure it wouldn't drag when the charge started dipping. I thought no cord might be less traumatic for my babies, especially with me being completely inexperienced. I got confused 'cuz none of them seem to put comparable specs up......then my HD fried. I now I am not the OP, but I have made a note of your kind recommendations, and I thank you for them. Oh, yes...I see you are in OK. I was born an Okie... Take care!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I've heard the Wahl Peanut is great for doing things like ears pads of feet and sanitary grooming. In other words, places you trim even if you are growing coat.

| eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices I found the Peanut in pink! Awesome deal on the combo pack! I need a new larger people trimmer too anyways. No jokes please, I do some touch up on hair cuts here-beauty school drop out myself. I use Andis equipment on myself-dryer, curler, straightener, I love it but I've found it to be fragile-ish, personally. OH AND WAHL IS MADE IN THE USA!!!!! Here's a great deal on the peanut in pink sold separately with a comb combo http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wahl-Peanut-...item3f0e07b328 http://www.ebay.com/itm/130632098256...84.m1423.l2649

| Amazon.com: Wahl 9865-100 Delicate Definitions... Would something like this work for ears and paws? I have this already. How is it different than the Peanut? |

| I've noticed that since Yorkies have hair clippers and trimmers cross over well for them-however trying to use people stuff on my mini schnauzer with her double coat and my Schnorkie with his silky and wiring combination forget about it!
