YT 1000 Club Member | Honestly, unless you have a separate washing machine just for those wee pads, I'd say no. I personally prefer disposable since they are more sanitary but it's definitely more expensive.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I use my family washer, the only thing is after I wash the pee pads I run a water with bleach wash in hot water and let her rinse, it looks and smells as good as new, and bleach sanitizes it, so I never had a problem, I do a load of pee pads every other day with 5 dogs.oh, I do flush the heavy waste in the toilet, I do use the disposables for the puppies until they are about 4 weeks then them too are moved to washables. I won't add all that non recyclable plastic to the enviroment. just my lil way of eco conservation. hugs, Last edited by carmen in nj; 02-03-2012 at 07:22 AM. |

I also cloth diapered my kids and used my washing machine for those... No different in my opinion. Urine is sterile.

| Additional questions Carmen, can the disposables be bleached? Just thinking, cuz I have been going thru disposables like crazy and since both mine are litter box trained (disposable pads substituted for litter), I wonder if I should look into this? Also, how is paw tracking with washables vs disposables?

| I use washables!! Love them! And they look so much better IMO than the disposables! I use my sterile cycle with unscented detergent. I usually run a tub clean cycle afterwards..... I havent had any problems with my other laundry coming out smelly because of the potty pads.... My kids clothes are probably dirtier that the pads! lol Ps...I get mine from T Bumpkins (107barney)
