| Marking the bed? Do dogs do this? I have a 9 month male yorkie that was neutered 2 months ago. When he was very young there were a few accidents on his bed but nothing for the past 5 months. 3 weeks ago we adpoted a 3 month female maltese. 3 times this week the bed has been "peed" on. The 1st time i have no idea who it was so i washed it and put it back. Then it happened again and i knew it was my male yorkie even though i didnt see him doing it. This time I didnt give them the bed back and they had to share 1. The las night I put the cushion from the other bed down and again this morning he did the same. now he doesnt "pee" on the cushion that he sleeps on. he takes this off and pees on the actual bed. And he only does it when there are 2 beds there or one bed and one cushion. So, is he marking? could i fix this with a bed with a non removable cushion? should i just buy one big bed for them both? |

| well at least niether of them are not peeing on my bed! hahaha not sure if all maltese's are like that but my experience with her so far is far from it. she is so relaxed and laid back. she just lays on the bed or floor all day. even when she is with us, she just lays on our lap. sometimes she does lay on his bed and i though he might have been "marking" it. | I haven't had that problem, thankfully. However, at first I thought you said "Making the Bed?" My yorkie definitely DOES make the bed, lol. He grabs the covers, moves them around, digs them around and makes his bed. lol, sorry, had to say it

When I had both Yorkies, I had that problem. It took me a while to discover that Ruby Tuesday was peeing ON my bed when she was ticked at me. Sometimes she was so dominating, and then on the other hand, sometimes she was just the sweetest little angel in the world . . . it was so strange. But she definitely wanted it HER way. I finally had to rehome her because she was beating the you-know-what out of her brother Bad Leroy Brown. (rage? jealousy?) She now lives about a block from us with some friends who shower her with attention and allows her to be the Diva she knew she was born to be. And Leroy has never been happier having his Kingdom to himself.

| they actually get along really well and this is the only sign of jealousy etc i have no plans what so ever of rehoming but it seems really strange why he would pee in his own bed. what could he possible get out of this? to be honest, im not really looking to understand this as i might never, i just want a solution. another reason i can think of is that he is used to having the run of the house but and no put them into thier room more frequently as i cant leave the door open incase she gts out and has an "accident" |

| That is SO funny, I thought the same thing...Bayleigh makes her bed every night before she settles down. I keep trying to get her to sleep with us & the maltese, but she prefers her crate...go figure! |

| I'm surprised he pees on the bed. Typically animals don't pee where they rest. You may want to really get down and dirty and clean the heck out of it with some really good detergent. I do think it's marking behavior though

im going to try with just 2 cushions/pillows for the weekend and if that goes ok i will move onto one bed and see what happens ps i have been washing it in the washing machine on the hottest temperature with loads of soap shortly after he has done this so that the pee is still wet. | How about attaching the pillow to the bed so he can't take it off?

| that will be the next option i think. the problem being i dont want to ruin it my my poor sewing skills. saying that, another wash in the washing machine might ruin it anyway |
