| Ears still floppy at 11 weeks... My pup's ears are still floppy at 11 weeks. Is it time to start "helping" them stand up? I had planned on trimming the hair on her ears, giving her a spoon of yogurt for awhile(read that on here somewhere), etc. |

| Ziva's were up and down til 14 weeks and I did all recommended things except taping. I trimmed, yogurt'd and massaged the base of the ears- Seemed to work, she took more notice of holding them up. Now at 2 1/2 I let her hair grow long and it actually dragged her ears down! Abby's were born up! hope she grows into them. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | The top third of the Yorkies ears should be trimmed of hair, even as an adult, this is the most important thing you can do to get the ears to stand. Sometimes a dog's ear will droop when teething and extra calcium can help. There are also a few threads that describe how to tape a yorkies ear. Basically, you shave the whole ear and use a surgical tape to prop the ear up until the cartilage is strong enough to hold it up on its own.

| CoCo will be 11 weeks on Saturday and her ears are still floppy. Her brother's ears are already standing!!!! I would love for her ears to stand on their own as her daddy doesn't want me to shave her ears (or cut/trim ANY of her hair) just yet. I might try cottege cheese. If her ears never stand, I will love her just the same. She's my sweet baby. |

| Prissy's ears are up but she has floppy tips,,I swear if they stood completely up she would be called Dumbo, yes she has big ears too. Dh doesn't want anything done since she has stole our hearts and the little floppy tips are too stinkin cute. I swear she has us wrapped around her little paws.
