| Triflexis - anyone use on their Yorkies? Hey Everyone, I wanted to see if anyone else uses Triflexis for their Yorkies? Any problems? We were using K9 Advantix and Interceptor and since they hate topicals and are trying to avoid the fighting that comes when it is applied, our vet recommended Triflexis. I was thinking of using Comfortis, however he said that Interceptor and flea meds are combined into one. I only bought 1 pill for each to try it out, on Feb 11th. We were told to give on a full tummy, so does anyone else use this? Before today, I had not heard of it. Thanks in advance,

| I would like to see the responses. My vet suggested we switch to Trifexis starting next month. He told me it was new and would cover everything in one dose and to give it after a meal.

| Sophie Kate was on Trifixis for 6 months, it gave her an upset tummy regardless of when it was given to her. I spoke with my Vet and she decided that it was not a good match for Sophie Kate.

| We are going to probably give it a try - at $40 for 2 pills it's more expensive but since it's a combo, probably less expensive in the long run. I had also heard about splitting the pill and giving 1/2 a pill one day, and 1/2 a pill the following day. Not sure, if it should be done that way. I had thought the vet would recommend Comfortis to be taken with Interceptor, but instead he recommended Triflexis. With it still being new, and them being 6 & 7 pounds, want to be sure it doesn't hurt them.

| Chase gets Trifexis and has not had any problems. It's been about 5 months I think. My vet stopped carrying Sentinel for dogs over 10lbs and recommended it. Chase is 14ish lbs. He did NOT recommend it for Calvin, and still gives him the Sentinel. He said it wasn't for dogs under 10lbs, and Calvin is just under 6lbs. I did just look at the sheet that came with it, and it says it's okay for dogs 5lbs and up, and there is a pill for 5-10lbs. Maybe my vet just doesn't carry that dose? |

| We live in Fl. so have year round fleas. My dogs are on Triflexis and it is the only thing that worked this good. We have NO fleas since they have been on it. Abba is not on it he is under 4 pounds.

| Cut in Quarters I have been giving Triflexis to my Yorkie. She was throwing it up sometimes so I started cutting it into quarters. I give her one quarter at a time. I wait a couple of hours between each one and its working much better. She is less than 4 lbs. and she is doing fine on it. Last edited by mcowser; 05-24-2012 at 05:23 PM. Reason: add on |

| My vet just prescribed it because Interceptor was recalled, I read about different dogs getting so sick with seizure like symptoms so I don't know what to do. My daughter gave it and the dog threw it up. The vet told her to give again. She did give it broken into breakfast & dinner & the vet got upset with her & said you can't do that. My dog can only eat I/d or he throws up so I'm really nervous about this. |
