Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | OMG Y'all!!! Y'all I had to tell you what happened last night! As you know, I put a diaper on Katie Scarlett yesterday evening. I didn't want to, but I had to. Since her spay, she was having pee accidents left and right. I know it wasn't her fault. She is still recovering from her surgery and accidents are to be expected. I cleaned them up and did not get onto her at all. But we rent and I couldn't have her peeing on the carpets that much. She didn't like the diaper at first, but she forgave me and was cuddling/playing with me before I knew it. Well she went tee tee twice in 2 different diapers before bed. I told her before I put her down in her big girl bed for the night that I would take the diaper off. Her big girl bed is in our room and she has a pee pad set up right next to it. Her x-pen is set up around it and she can't wander at night. So I did not worry about her having an accident at night. So I took the diaper off at night, let her love on me a bit in my bed, and then put her down in her big girl bed. She was quiet for a good 30 minutes and I just knew she was asleep. I was almost asleep myself when I hear her start barking like mad. I figured she heard something outside and told her 'enough' and that it was ok. She knows she is allowed 3 warning barks and does good with this. Well she kept on barking and I knew something was up. I went to her and she had poopied on her pad and had stepped in it. She had poopie stuck in all four paws, all over the pad, all over her bedding. It was everywhere!! I wake my husband up to help me and you won't believe what he did...he put her up on our bed! So now I have poop tracks all over the top of our bedding! I tell him...what are you doing?!!! He was half asleep poor thing and I know it wasn't on purpose. So I had to give her a bath. There was no way around it. The poopie was all in her hair, in between her paw pads, everywhere. There was no way I would of been able to clean her up with a wipe. I hope giving her a bath so soon after her spay is ok. I put one of those second skin band aids over her spot that is waterproof and I also did my best not to get any water or soap near the band aid if I could help it. She didn't seem to mind the bath. I think she enjoyed it. She wanted that poopie off of her and I think she enjoyed the massage and the warmth of the water. I then dried her off really well and we did a blow dry. After we finished, I took off the second skin band aid and it did work. Around her incision was dry as a bone. The incision looks as good as one can look I guess. The stitches are fine and no redness. I hope she will be ok. So far, she hasn't tried to lick at it anymore today. But after cleaning her, I had to strip the bed and wash all the bedding. I had my husband clean up her area. I had to take the covering off of her big girl bed and wash it. It was a big ol' mess! We got in the bed late last night needless to say! Tee hee! These little guys...the things we do, but you know I wouldn't trade it for the world! I'll clean up poopie anyday!

| What she said... Sounds like you have quite a night! I'm not envious, though! Hope she heals up quickly and everything goes back to normal...whatever that is.

| I'm so sorry, but I believe in honesty, and I'm laughing hysterically...I can't help it!! =/ It's like a child who poopies and then takes their diaper off and flings it around the crib, up the walls, on their hands...the floor...everywhere. Then..proceeds to scream like a banshee. That's exactly what Katie Scarlett did. MOMMyyyyyyyyyy I poopied...clean up my mess! ROFL Love it! |

| I am sorry but I have sit here laughing soooo hard. I had nearly the same situation about 3wks. ago. Mine was with TIna (our 14yrs. old) She sleeps in a diaper, well actually she wears them all the time, but, she had pooped in it and it fell out in her playpen. She had it all over her, the playpen, covers, everywhere. Even in the mesh of the playpen. She howls because she doesn't want it on her either. What a mess. I thought I would never get it cleaned up. Had to put her in her kennel until everything was washed and dryed and had to bathe her. Know what you went through. Can not believe that happened with a diaper on though. |
