| can't get comfy when sleeping? Hey ever since i brought meesha home she never seems to be able to be comfy when sleeping, i thought it was because she was in a new enviroment, but she still is doing it and has been here with me for a month. she sleeps on my bed. she'll start sleeping on the pillow next to me, crawl over on top of my head, crawl down to the covers, crawl under the covers, crawl above the covers...crawl to the foot of the bed,etc..all this while tossing and turning.is this normal puppy behaviour?, she won't cuddle with me anymore and if i touch her while she's sleeping, she'll move away from me or hide her head from me...just wondering why she dose this, or if its just her quirky personality? thanks |

| Hello, has she been sleeping with you since she came to your home? If so she is probably accustomed to her own space. Every puppy that I have had has their own bed and I do crate train them, they love their crate and still do, it is their haven. Just not familiar with a puppy sleeping with you at such a young age. Hopefully others will check in and help ya.

and Bear too! ♥ Donating Member | Bear is almost 6 months and he sleeps with us in our bed, along with Sophie and Ziggy, who are 3 1/2. He moves around alot at night. I wake up and he's in one spot, then the next time I wake up, he's in another!

| My two are on the move all night. First one is up between the pillows and the other is under the covers. Then they switch places. Then they get hot and go to the end of the bed. Then it starts over again but it always ends up that they have pushed me to the very edge of the bed by morning and I have no covers.

| how old is she? often our pets get a lot of sleep during the day because their owners are at work or busy, so I notice my dog Lola is not always as sleepy as we would like. Each dog is different, my last slept between my husband and i with his head on the the pillow and his body under the covers and rarely moved, he also pressed against my husband who did not mind, I on the other hand toss and turn and was always worried I would roll over on him. When we got Lola I told my husband I want to have her sleep in our room but in a crate, he was not to happy about that, after a while we would sometimes let her sleep on the bed, but she did not seem to like it, she has more fur and does not feel the cold, so she never wants to be under the covers, she would go to the farthest part of the bed away from us walk in circles, frantically paw and scratch and if she was not tired would dive bomb our head and hands. I said we have to get her back to sleeping in her crate, we had one night of crying and one night of muffled little cries and now she sleeps soundly all night long. Another benefit of the cage is my husband goes to sleep earlier than I do, so when Lola and I would come to bed, she would start crawling all over him, licking him, nudging him, I would try to hold her tight so she would not wake him, it was stressful, now I put her quietly in the crate. Each case is different so I hope you don't mind me giving you my experiences but after having dogs sleep in their crate versus the bed i feel we all get a better night sleep with the dog in their crate. |

When Meesha moves away or hides her head after you touch her while she's sleeping, that translates to: Mom, PLEASE! You're bugging me. Leave me alone, I is trying to sleep. Jeez!

| lol thanks for the help everyone, its good to know theres others out there who move throughout the night, meesha woke me up this morning by putting her nose to my nose, then she crawled under the covers with me right against my stomach, rolled upsidedown and wanted a belly rub, i gave her a belly rub and massage for almost a half hour, then she fell asleep right next to me, which is so odd because i was just saying how she stopped being cuddly latley, this morning she was a cuddle bug I am so happy right now, i feel liek we had a break through, she loved her massage i already tryed the crate with her and she was absolutley miserable, cried all night.so i built a ramp for her, if she didn't want to sleep in my bed... i went a little crazy before getting her and bought her 5 beds LOL,... she could choose one of them to sleep in,she'll take a nap on 2 of them sometimes, and one she stores her toys in and the other 2 she plays on lol Last edited by Mee-sha; 01-19-2012 at 08:41 AM. |

| I read from an article dogs do not sleep like human does. They sleep for a bit, then move to a different spot then sleeps then move to a different spot all night. Very seldom a dog will sleep in one spot all night like we do. My dog sleeps with me on the bed but he moves from spot to spot all night. Sometimes he goes to sleep on the carpet but he still moves from spot to spot.

| Tibbe is usually all over the place nights as were my other Yorkies in the past so I always thought that was normal. Also, there are times Tibbe doesn't necessarily want to cuddle when he's seriously into sleeping, playing or whatever so I just let him be at those times. He's definitely his own dog and such an independent little cuss but oh, there was never a sweeter one that walked the earth when he wants to be.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Mine move to different spots all during the night. Some start on the bed on one spot, then move to another. They have beds on my bed, on the floor and in my walk in closet. They seem to use all of them in the course of a night. My old guy is the only one who sleeps in his bed right next to my head all night.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Katie Scarlett will do this when she is on the bed with me right before bedtime. She will look like she is settling in and then she moves. Then you think she is a asleep and here she comes to sit on my head. LOL. Then I get up, put her in her big girl bed, and before you know it...she is snoring away. I think she just likes her own space when she sleeps. Which that really is a good thing. My husband is adamant on her not sleeping in the bed with us all night. He is afraid he will roll over on her and he also says he needs his privacy...LOL. Men!
