Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Accidents After Spay? Hey guys! Question for you...are accidents common after spay? Before her surgery, Katie Scarlett had been doing fabulous! She hadn't had an accident in weeks. Well she had her spay Monday. She has had 6 accidents so far today, all on the carpet. I have cleaned them up and used Nature's Miracle. I put her to bed for the night in her Potty Training Puppy Apartment thingie. She has a pad in the apartment with her, so I know she will be fine all night. But I'm already worried about tomorrow. I obviously can't or won't keep her in her apartment all day. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon and my husband is going to stay with her, but he doesn't watch her as closely as I do. I don't want her to have an accident in the carpet and he miss it. We rent and have this navy blue carpet and believe me...it hides pee. LOL. If you don't catch it fresh, you will not know it's there until it smells. We are about to get a carpet cleaner and clean the floor really good. I didn't know if maybe she has tinkled in small spots on the carpet and is confused and peeing there or if she is just having accidents related to the spay??? I don't mind cleaning them but I am ready to pull my hair out tonite. LOL. I feel like the pee pee sucker upper with my paper towels! Help! Thanks guys! Other than that, KS is doing great! She's in dream land now.

| I don't have any idea as I've never been through that before... good luck though. Hope its nothing serious. Maybe call your vet tomorrow and check. Glad to hear Miss Katie Scarlett is doing better, well, other than her accidents.

| They sometimes get uti after spay surgery...it's very common. Princess had to have a round of anti-biotics to clear it up.

| They can have accidents after a spay but they can also get a uti that can be the cause

| I've never had a yorkie that had accidents after spay. If it continues for more than a day, I'd contact your vet to be safe.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Thanks for your input everyone! She is doing better. She has only had 1 accident today, but it may of been my fault more than hers. I let her out to walk with me while I was cleaning up the house and I had left the bedroom door closed. One of her pads is in there and she couldn't get in. She tee tee'd on the rug right in front of the door. But doing better!

| Kacee was already potty trained, but she did have two accidents after her spay. It's very common.

| Rosie didn't have any accidents after hers but Mikki did have one. I was worried as well. But when I called the vet since it was just once they didn't seen concerned at all. If she continues I would call the vet and ask them about it. Sounds like she is already doing better!!

| Holly had lots of accidents! I was thinking we were going to have to start over but she went back to normal after about the 3rd day. She also squatted many times and no pee would come out. I called the vet daily! They assured me she was fine and she was! Good luck! |
