| Id tags? I am wondering which would be best. I have always used the ones that look like plates screwed into the collar material on my big breed outdoor dogs because the ones that dangle from the d ring always fell off. I didn't know if the ones that dangle would stay on even on a yorkie?

| We use the dangly kind. One on his harness, one one his collar (overkill, maybe, but it gives me peace of mind!). Attached using a teeny-tiny loop (like on a keychain). I haven't had any problems with his tags falling off.

| I use a dangly one too. I wish I had the flat kind, but I'm trying to cut back on my spending Also, it's nice to hear the occasional jingle to know he's around!

| We use the dangle kind and they always have stayed on. I have Callie's rabies tag and a red dingo tag on her collar. The jingle helps to let me know where she is.

| We use the light weight aluminum ones from pettags4less. The yorkies get a little bell too. The jingle makes them easier to find! |

| Non of my four little kids have ID tages as I will not allow them to wear a collar in the house and when outside on a "walkies" they are never ever off the leash. All four are micro chipped but I only did that as overkill as there is no chance what so ever of them getting out of the home or yard. Should I ever decide to fit an ID to them then it would have to be a high quality flat tag on a collar as I just do not like a dangling disc or anything else on my babies..

| Mine have the tiny, screw together ones that are made for cats. I also write their details on the inside of their harness in permanent marker. I do this inside my bigger dogs' leather collars too. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Katie Scarlett has the dangly kind too on the D ring of her harness. I have her green rabies one from the vet on there and a 'get me home' one that the vet gave us. But I am about to take that one off. She was microchipped yesterday and I got a new one from the microchip that will replace that. I gotta finish her registration stuff on that today.

| I used these engraved metal tags for my two large dogs (now deceased) for over 10 years. They still look new after all that time. My dogs had the plastic buckle type of collar, and the tags never once moved a millimeter. I think it would have been really hard trying to get the slide on tags off if I wanted to change collars. I love the decorative tags for my tiny dogs, but I do like the ones on the collars too because they don't make noise, and they don't come off or get tangled on things. You can have anything like chip numbers, rabies numbers, and phone numbers engraved on the tags so you can have one tag for everything. Boomerang Tags |

| I have the Boomerang tags on my boy's collars and have their dangle tags on their harnesses, too! It may seem like overkill, but you never know when these little boogers may slip out and wander off. That is why we put the i.d. tag on the collars. |

| Thanks for this info! Our Aussies need new tags. I went to this site but the only thing I can't figure out is how to get something other than the default font. Maybe the tag I'm choosing doesn't offer engraving in different fonts?? But it's free shipping! Getting two tags for under 5 bucks.... much better than the pet stores!
