| For the 3 that I had as puppies, the first grooming was after they had shot's, including rabies. So I guess that would be about 4 months old.

| When they look shaggy enough to need it? Starting early helps your pup get acquainted with the grooming process and start to get used to it. Usually for the first grooming, your groomer won't want to do a full clip... just clean up the face, ears, feet and sanitary area. Just to make sure the puppy has a good experience and doesn't get scared. Then you can build on it from there. |

| If you don't want to do his nails, you can take him to the vet's to get his nails trimmed. If you want to introduce him to grooming, some groomers will do that.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | That goes for us too! I waited until shots were finished and KS was a little over 4 months.

| Macy is 5 months and still hasn't been. I'm not ready for her to lose her puppy color! But she will probably go sometime with in the next month, she's getting awful scraggly. |

| I waited until about 6-8 months for both of mine because I loved their shaggy hair. I didn't want to get rid of their puppy fuzz, so I waited a little longer for their first trim.

| For those who waited, did you trim your babies nails? And what about *TMI* poop sticking to their bums? So far, if it does, I just give him a booty bath, lol.
