| Hallie has had babies ;( I felt a lump on Hallie's belly over the weekend but she was acting fine so I scheduled an appt. with her vet for today! I took Simon and Hallie to daycare today and Dr. Burns went over and got her for her appt. (his office is right next door). I told him where it was and he called me to tell me that it was her belly button (she has an outtie) and it was nothing to worry about but asked me to come see him when I went to pick them up. When I got there he told me that he had done an ultrasound to make sure and then proceeded to ask me how many litters she has had?!?!?!?!?! HUH? My mouth dropped and I told him I knew nothing since I have only had her for a little over a year (she is 3 now). I know nothing of her medical history since I adopted her and she was abused, that's all I know. He estimates from the amont of scar tissue she has had at least 2 litters by c-section (I always assumed that scar was from her spay). I am so sad for my baby girl, she is so tiny! And she has babies out there somewhere and I want all the little Hallie's! I LOVE my vet though, when I went to pay (as I was bawling my eyes out) he just looked at me and told me Merry Christmas and to not worry about it. I am SO SAD! |

| Poor baby Hallie. She's so teeny. At least she is home w/ mama and Simon now - where she belongs - and not w/ whomever was making her have babies. Hopefully it was only two litters and her puppies are happy somewhere in warm homes with loving mamas and dads. I feel so horribly for babies who have to have c-sections

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | With you as her mom... her awful past is far behind her....she found an angel when she found you - I know how upset you were to hear this and I don't blame you for wanting to know more... but the main thing is YOUR baby is fine and there is no tumor or other reasons for a lump - It's sick that someone bred her but there is nothing you can do about it now except what you have been doing all along ....Being her mom & loving her. Your vet sounds really compassionate too...that was so nice of him - he must have seen how upset you were.... it's not too often they waive a fee |

| Omg!~ I can't believe it. But yes--she is with you and Simon now and that is where she is the happiest. Poor thing--but that really is the most important--that she is with you! Happy and comfy with you! And what a wonderful vet you have-Merry Christmas! ANd I am sure all the little Hallie's that are out there- are very happy and are in happy and loving homes!!!

| What a surprise and shock this must have been for you Kimberly. I hope and pray that all Hallie's babies have found loving and warm homes. They all deserve the happiest life ever, just like the one you are giving to their Mama Hallie.

| I met a super nice breeder, and she told me how time consuming and frustrating raising a newborn can be, and it mostly related to potty training. I told her that I decided not to get a puppy. She emailed me me six months later, and wrote that she is retiring an adult Yorkie, and if I am interested, she would email a pic. I fell in love with this cutie five minutes after picking her up. The breeder told me that she has had two litters, and decided to retire her after the second litter as she had a very difficult time, and two of her pups died. The breeder was very emotional as she took Sadie and spent a few minutes saying good-bye to her. I felt sorry for the dog, as she left behind her Mother, and two children. This is the only home she ever had. I got Sadie in April, and she had her second litter in January. She had a C-Section. A month ago, my sis-in-law told me she had a lump on her side underneath. I immediately took her to the vet, and he said it was leftover fatty tissue in the belly button area, and it was probably due from the C-Section, and not to worry. I am glad you have a super vet, and can now relax. I feel terrible that your sweetie was abused. She is lucky to have you. My dog was never abused, and adores all people, especially children. Take care. Kate Quote:

| Fortunately, Yorkies forget the past and live for today. I have seen some very abused, rehomed Yorkies who are happy as can be, wonderful companions...if they were humans they would be pretty messed up emotionally. |

| Thank you all for your nice compliments (especially Villette and Pat for answering my PM questions)! I know she is happy now but I can't help but feel bad for her little body! Hallie has been getting more than enough love tonight! I have been kissing her little belly all night long, Simon has been giving lots of kisses too and we had a long talk (probably to help me more than her)! |
