Harness How do I get my 6 month old to like his harness? He has never had one and he has never been on s leash before. He don't get to go out much because we don't have a fence to keep him in.

I think you want to introduce it slowly if he is fighting it. Let him sniff and play with it a little. Slowly show him it is not going to hurt him. I found the more I took my girl outside with it on the more she liked it because she loves going out. Now when she sees me take it off the rack it hangs on she gets all excited because she knows she is going out! Maybe someone else has some more helpful suggestions?

Thanks for the help. When i put the harness on him in the house he ran crazy. I had to catch him and take it off. Maybe he will get use to it. I can't wait for it to stop raining so we can try it out.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I did a few times at night with it on to start. You will get running crazy, rolling trying to rub it off but after an hr they will get fed up and stop. Then lots of love and treats and wait another 30- min then take it off with treats again. Keep us posted with how it is going.

I got a very small harness for Lord Winston and he got himself out of it. I am afraid to take him out now. I don't want to lose my baby.

What kind of a harness did you get for him? Is he usually kind of nervous about new things? Try letting him play with it, just stay with him and watch so he doesn't chew it. I think if he gets used to the smell and feel of it he will eventually be OK. Some dogs it just takes a little longer. Going outside will help if he is the outdoors type!
