| I Found A Potential New Baby Jim and I went to Quality Canine last night to see some of the new pups that Ivan had. The pup that Jim bought me and I made him return (on the day of my mother's burial) was already sold. But I'm really glad about it because she was sold to a man who was buying her for his wife as a surprise because his wife was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. So I'm glad this little puppy found a loving home where she can bring joy and love to this poor woman during the long road of hospital visits, chemotherapy and recovery set before her. Anyway, Ivan showed me a bunch of cute little girl pups but none of them really caught my eye. Then he said to me "Would you be interested in another tiny Yorkie?" And to be honest, I wasn't really looking to get another tiny because of all the sadness and heart ache I had with Katie because she was diagnosed with kidney disease. But I told him I'd take a look at her anyway. So he went to the back and brought out this little cutie pie who is 3 months and 2 weeks old and only 1 lb & 4 ounces even. She is a black and gold color. I wasn't expecting much but man was she ABSOLUTELY adorable. And then she did the ultimate ... she licked me the same way that Katie use to lick me!! It was love at first sight! Even Jim is crazy about her -- he was kissing her and tickling her little tummy. But we didn't take her. I told Ivan I'd get back to him by Thursday because I don't want to make an impulse buy. So I have all day today to think this over and make the right decision for my, Jim and Codie. Jim really wants to get her -- he thinks she's adorable and perfect for our family. By the way, Ivan won't release her until she 4 months old because she's still so small and fragile -- which I think is very responsible. So I've got a little bit of time to decide but I'm definitely going to make my decision today. If we're going to take her, Jim will go to Quality Canine tomorrow and put a deposit on her. Ok guys, now I need your advice! I want to buy her for the right reasons. Would I really be rushing it because my Katie girl is only gone 2 weeks and 2 days? I still feel so guilty even looking at another dog (even though she was so precious and sweet). Please give me your advice and help me make this difficult decision.

| You have to remember that you are not replacing Katie, and you will never forget her, but you are opening your heart and home to another pup that you will love and cherish, just as much as you did Katie. Only you can know if you are ready for that. The new girl could be a big help in healing your pain of the loss of Katie, but if she does nothing but remind you of her, it probably is not the time yet. |

| Oh Jen, my heart goes out to you so much that right now I think I'd say to do anything that brings you happiness and joy. If the time issue is what is holding you back, then I would say get her. If you are really REALLY in fear of her being so little and think you will be more nervous than happy around her then I would say don't get her. If that connection you and Jim felt for her feels so real (and you know when it is) then I would say get her. I just want you to be happy. Nothing will ever replace your losses and we all know that. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sharing the love you have with a different puppy and you shouldn't feel guilty or sad by thinking of the new pup as a "replacement". Have the man give you a good health warranty on the pup. I want you to be happy, not have more heart break. |

| Kimberley is right. Only you can make that decision. I would just be certain that I could give her the kind of love and attention she needs without making comparisons. At least, that is what I asked myself and my family before we got Kacee. I think you know deep down if it feels right to you. I know how sad our house was without the toys scattered and the pitter-patter of those little feet, so to speak, and without the barks for this and for that.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | IMO get her! When I lost my first yorkie many years ago I was devastated but I missed him so much that I started looking for another baby to love! My sister found a breeder and set up an appointment, I said I was only going to look took no cash with, it was not even a week after Zorro had passed on. Well we went and these three little yorkies were in the kitchen and I fell in love with Gracie so my sister pulls out 600 cash and said I knew you woukld fall in love with one of them so I brought cash with! I still missed Zorro but the distraction of a new puppy helped me heal. Gracie slept in my bed from day one and was the sweetest little girl until her life was cut short at 61/2 years old by heart and lung disease from a collapsed trachea. No one can replace a former puppy but each one has a special place in our hearts! That's why God gave us hearts!

| Jen, I think you will know in your heart if she is meant to be your next little baby. I don't see time being an issue. You are not replacing katie, but giving a new little one a loving caring home. As far as being tiny, as long a she has a clean bill of health and you are not going to be too nervous about her being so small. I say go for it. You and Jim deserve some joy right now.

| Jen Everyone is giving you great advice. I can only add that we got Tucker 3 weeks after Bandit died and I felt a bit guilty too. But, he was the right puppy for us and in my heart i knew that he was meant to be ours. Bandit will always be loved by our whole family. Getting Tucker was a way to honor Bandit, if we hadn't loved him so much there wouldn't have been such a hole in our lives. I say go for it. You'll be amazed at how your heart has the capacity to grow and add the new pup, not replace Katie. Good luck with what ever you decide.

| The beauty of love is that it has no boundries. Nothing that says you can only have some much love in your heart. Katie is still in your heart and always will be but your heart will grow even bigger with a new little one. Aw come on didn't you love the smell of puppy breath on the little one you saw yesterday? Didn't you hate handing her back? Didn't you think about her just before you fell off to sleep? Who else but you could love this little one and understand her needs? She will help you mend your heart.

| I would get her, you fell in love with her on first sight. You have so much love to give to her and her to you. She won't ever replace your Katie but she will give you lots of love and make her own place in your heart. I'll always remember my beloved pets who have passed on, they could never be replaced, each one had their own special personality it was who they were, just like people everyone is different. I can't imagine life without my doggies. |

| How about seeing if you could put a deposit down on her. That way you have at least 2 weeks to think about it since he won't release her until she is 4 months old. |

| Take her... Take her...... Take her She sounds like a little sweatheart. With everything you've been through, no one deserves her more than YOU! As someone had already said .. It's not a replacement of Katie but a tribute to her memory.

| Thank You Thank you all so much! Your kindness and wise words are a great support for me. I'm leaning towards getting her but I want to wait until the end of the day to make a FINAL decision. I know Jim adores her and I'm positive that she and Codie will be the best of friends. And she was so beautiful!! Ivan first showed me a bunch of other little girls but they weren't half as adorable as she was. She has the cutest little baby face that you could just smooch all day long. SMOOOOOOOOCH!! Ok ok, I'm getting off track lolol
