| Just Wondering My little yorkie is now almost 7months old (wow) and she is a total mommies girl. I of course love this but I am wondering if its a bad thing. She is not agressive toward anyone else in the house or anyone else in general. She loves people. I take her with me almost everywhere I go so she is very friendly with everyone. But when we are anywhere, even at home and someone else tries to hold her she just looks for me and gives me this look like, mom, Help! If I am on the computer or on the couch or anywhere she is on my lap. If I am busy cleaning or somthing she lays on her bed and is ok with that. But if she is in her bed and I sit down somewhere I swear there is a buzzer in my butt because she comes running wanting in my lap. If she is not sleeping she is like my little shadow and I dont mind this but part of me worries she is getting to attached. When I leave her home she gets caged and does not seem to mind it. I have left her at home for several hours and she is fine but supper excited when I walk in the door. I have other dogs, and a cat that all get my attention and she is in no way aggressive toward them and I also babysit and have a daughter of my own and she loves them all. She even cuddles with the hubby at night in bed. She is just a mommies girl. Like I said, I love it but do you guys think it might lead to a bad thing or is she just spoiled. I also want to add I work from home so I am home all day everyday with her. I am sure that makes a difference. |

| I don't know if it's bad... she trusts you. I hope it's not bad, bc I have one just like that... and a buzzer too! Lol!

| I think it's the type of personality she has. So long as there is zero aggression I think it's a good thing. My boy is pretty independent. He'll cuddle a bit, but he's more play in your face and run away, rather than coming and cuddling. Just keep her socializing with other dogs and people and she should grow up to be a loveable mommies girl...

| Nothing wrong at all. Some dogs tend to pick and choose who they prefer. Our Yorkie, bailey, has chosen me over my wife. He's on my lap as I type. He's friendly to everyone and will hang out with our friends, but he has his eye out for me when he's with someone else. |

| I have 4 Yorkies, 2 boys and 2 girls, but Sassy my youngest (1 year old) is definitely a mommies girl. She is also the smallest of the 4. She follows me around and gets excited when she sees me even if it has only been 5 minutes. she would let me carry her all day long if I could. She begs for me to pick her up all the time. I know she is spoiled but it doesn't take away from the attention I give the other 3, and they don't seem to care that I give her more attention. My DH gives my other girl a lot of attention and she loves her daddy, the boys love each of us. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.

| My Pommie, Snowboy, only has eyes for me. My other 3 love me and want to be around me, but Snowboy has chosen me. Our daughter's Pommie, Moxy, that we have for a year, adores my dh. She just melts in his arms. Don't see any rhyme or reason to it because my dh is kind and sweet to all of my babies. Personality?? ~Joanne~

| My Trixie is the same way with me...follows me everywhere and always wants to be with me. I think it's just fine as long as she is not guarding you or protecting you for your family. I love all the extra snuggling I get from her, but I am her main caregiver so it makes sense.

| To answer your question. Is it bad to spoil her ? Truly that depends on her personality. If she starts guarding behavior with you (growling at other people) I would be worried. My 8 yr old Rubin is spoiled but I draw the line at him growling at people. He is allowed to boss the other dogs but, not people. Gracie is my little rescue and she is spoiled too. But I have to remind her every day she is not the only Yorkie I love. I often give in to her begging behavior to be held or for treats (I know ! Trainers should have perfectly behaved dogs. But my Yorkies are ... you know my Yorkies. Now back to yours.. ) You are the PLP in your family (PLP means protector, leader, provider), So you make the rules. If she is a terrific companion, obeys when you need her too, and is well behaved, don't worry. Some Yorkies make perfect shadows and are well balanced happy dogs.

| This makes me feel better. She is very well behaved and has never ever been aggressive in anyway what so ever. She is very socialized because I take her pretty well everywhere with me. I always say she is a spoiled rotten diva dog, I guess she is just holding true to her name. I love every second of it so it makes me feel good to know it's OK. |

| My Bevo is the same!! He loves people.... Never is aggressive, but only wants me.... People want to hold him all the time... I just smile, tell them it won't last very long, hand him over and politely take him back 20 seconds later when he is staring me down whimpering!!! It's insane... But that's Bevo!! They each have their own personality.... And personally, I LOVE how much he loves me!!

| My little girl loves me dearly and is with me a good deal of the time but she loves other people, too. When my daughter come home Gracie is in 7th heaven but once the playing is over she is right back with me. She may go visit DD in her bedroom for a while but she is back to sleep with me when it is bedtime. She loves people and loves to have company. I sometimes think about how she would be if anything happened that I could not be home for a few days. That is my only issue. There is no sense in worrying about it. I think she would cope since she is such a people lover. |
