| How many litters How many times should a yorkie be breed? Is there a rule? I am researching and seeing that some dogs have had a couple of litters this year and they are pretty large litters. Is that healthy? |

| Not a professional here. I believe you should not breed til the female is at least 2 and she should have her last litter around 6 or 7. They should not be breed more than 1 time per year. Max. of 4 to 5 per female. Not a money making breed if done properly. Most reputable will not breed more than that and many don't even breed a female that much. They should be members of the family 1st and foremost.

| Not a breeder, but I think 2-5 years, and one littler a year. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Most breeders will wait til the female is 2 or their 2nd heat. Some breed every heat some every other heat and others breed 2 heats then skip. Some repro vets think that they should be bred from the 2nd heat until 5 or 6 years of age.
