| New baby!!! We got a new baby boy on 12/16. I got him from my MIL, claims she rescued him from a shelter. Not being ugly but you can not believe everything she says. This was 2 months ago. I took him to the vet today and they think he is only about five months, his name is Nigel. He has yeast infections in his ears and treacheittis ( not sure if I spelled it right ) he is on three different medications. He is so cute!! They also gave him his shots because she did not give me any shot records for him. He also had hook worms in his stool. . It will be a couple more months before we can discuss getting him fixed.

| Thank you! He is already spoiled. My DH was tired of hearing me "gripe" and told her to give him to us. She agreed since she will still be able to see him. I am horrible with computers so my DH will have to help me post pictures when he can. I work days and he works nights.

| Hookworms are nasty critters. As I recall they are contracted by being in infected outside area as well as by eating the larva that are in infected meats or dead animals. This poor guy must have come from some awful conditions. Puppy mill? Hookworms are also very deadly. I hope they do a recheck to make sure they are totally gone. Hope this little one has a bright future with you. |

| Thank you everyone for the kind words. I love my babies and I treat them like my children. I would get so mad when she brought him over to my house and he would cough the whole time. I knew she was not taking care of him. have you heard the saying if mommy ain't happy then nobody is happy? Well that was my house during the time she had him. I am glad my DH is supportive of my love of animals. He is a big softie!!!

| Update on Nigel. He went to the vet today and got the rest of his shots. He was rechecked for hookworms and was cleared. Yay!! Still 4.4 pounds. I explained to the vet that he is coughing late at night and early morning. The vet said that he may have a slight collapse in his treachea. He told me to keep giving him cough syrup and see how things go.

| So glad he is doing better. I hope the cough clears up. Does the vet know how to check the trachea to make a proper diagnosis? I guess it's kind of important to know for sure what you are dealing with. Hoping for the best! |

| The vet just pushed against his throat and he coughed. I am not sure how they test for collapsed treachea.
