| Toys - playing with question. I have a question about toys - Gizmo (11 months ) loves his toys. He will play with my husband shaking them and growling and playing fetch. We are teaching him to drop them when he brings them back. Here is our question? He loves his toys and seems to be very possessive of them. He will be playing with one toy and if you reach for another one he drops the one he is playing with and goes for the one you want. It is like he is saying "this is mine leave it alone." he doesn't growl or show teeth he just talks and goes for the toy you want. We have a two year old great grand baby who comes to visit and up until now the only toys in the house were his toys. How do we handle this? I know we will be watching them like a hawk but do we need to put up Gizmo toys when he comes until he gets use to the dog. The last time he was here we had Mighty Mo who was a 10 year old Chihuahua who didn't like other dogs or young kids. He would never hurt them, he just stayed out of their way. This was never a problem because He was always curled up asleep next to me so it was easy to monitor his behavior. His toy playing days were long gone. Now we have Gizmo and he loves people and loves to to play. I am more concerned with him licking Hayden to death then biting him. But I am concerned about his toys. He is the first dog that I have ever had that keeps his toys picked up and in his bed. I mean he will go get them and bring all of them back to his bed when play time is over. I want them to be friends as we plan to hace Gizmo for a long time and I am sure Hayden will not be the last baby in the family. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
