| Newbie! Just wanted to say Hi! I have adopted a Yorkie from the local animal shelter Nov. 29th! The previous owner said he was 8 months old. He had been bit on his eye by a Chihuahua just before we got him, but the vet said to put some triple antibiotic on it and it would be fine. His hair was matted and has had a prior broken rib. The vet found the calcification knot where the rib had healed back together. When I got him home, I immediately realized he had been abused. He wouldn't stay on the bed, which I assume he was scolded for that since the previous owner told the shelter he shredded pillows. If I picked up a broom he ran and hid and if I talked to him too loud (not mad) he would drop to the floor. Now he plays as hard as our Pomeranian mix and his eye is healed. He loves to cuddle in the bed. I used a shedding comb and children's hair detangler until I got rid of all the matting, since I didn't want to shave him with winter on its way. He loves for us to play hide-and-go-seek around the dining room table. He has turned out to be the most loveable little guy ever. He still drops occasionally if we talk to loud, but he is doing better. We love on him when he does that. Currently he is learning to sit and lay and is doing well with it. He hasn't shredded any pillows as we were told he would, but he has "killed" many stuffed toys, haha. We are so glad we adopted him! |

| Welcome! It sounds like your little fella had a very ruff start for just being 8 or 9 months old. I dont understand people being cruel to any animal. So glad that you found each other. |
