| Yay! my Maden brush and combs came!!! I ordered a Madan small oval brush in lavender and a matching tail comb and a 4.5" face comb. They came today and they are WONDERFUL!!! The lavender color in the small oval brush is a newer color and is supposed to have a little bit softer cushion than the other small oval Madans. I had hoped it would be gentle enough for brushing little Lu and am happy to report that it is. It can be tricky to find tools to groom tiny dogs and the small Madan brush and combs are going to work perfectly. It doesn't hurt they are darned cute too! What a difference having the right tools makes! It is terrific to be able to search out information and learn from other members here at YT. |

| That sounds like something I need. I have so many brushes and combs etc. its unbelivable. Everyone seems too harsh. I use just a baby brush on them I am so afraid of hurting them. Do you mind if I ask where you ordered them from. They sound like they are perfect for our babies. Thanks. |

| I know there is a lady named Cindy here on YT that sells Madan brushes etc.I can't think off the top of my head what her site is called. I remember looking at it before I ordered and at the time she either didn't have the small oval lavender Madan brush in stock or maybe it was the comb. I can't remember. If you run a search on YT about Madan brushes you should come up with loads of information from YT members about Madan brushes and combs, along with information about Cindy's site and how to get a hold of her.I have never personally dealt with her but have read lots of positive reviews about her service. It sticks in my mind there is a thread where Cindy mentions that the two new small Madan oval brush colors are slightly softer than the other small oval brushes. I think it's the lavender and the lime green but don't quote me. I should have saved the link to the thread. Sorry. I believe she said the difference was slight, but slight was still some difference and so I wanted to try to find the softest small brush I could find. Being impatient, and specifically wanting to match up the brush and comb (purely vanity) I searched around for a site that seemed reputable and had what I was looking for. This is the first time I have ordered from this site but the transaction went smoothly and my package arrived in a timely manner. Which I thought was pretty good since I live in Canada and sometimes packages from the states can take forever. I ordered on November 25th and my package arrived today. Not bad considering the Christmas rush and having to go through customs etc. The small oval Madan brush http://www.showoffproducts.com/index.php/madan-brushes/madan-brushes/madan-small-oval-brush.html The matching Madan silicone tail comb http://www.showoffproducts.com/index.php/combs/madan-silicone-pin-tail-comb.html The 4.5" Madan face comb http://www.showoffproducts.com/index.php/combs/madan-4-1-2-face-comb.html |

| I found the thread where the new small brush colors are mentioned and the link to the YT member's site. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...sh-colors.html For some reason the link in that thread to the store site doesn't seem to work, or at least it didn't for me just a minute ago. Here is a link directly to the same site. http://www.toplinepet.com Last edited by imdll; 12-13-2011 at 11:19 PM. |

| Glad you got the Lavender color! I forgot to add the 'www.' on that link, so it doesn't work lollll. Thank you for posting my thread link. toplinepet.com For those of you who are not familiar w/Madan Pin Brushes: The Small brushes all come in one cushion softness except Apple Green & Lavender which are slightly softer. But the difference is very slight, so it's really a color preference. I am out of the Lavender @ the mo, but will be getting the Regular Pink in very soon, it's the best seller. | I was more than happy to post the link to your site. I would have ordered from your store if I hadn't been in such a hurry. Felt kind of bad about that. Part of the issue was vanity as I wanted to match up the brush and comb but the other part was that I didn't have a decent brush for grooming Lu and needed to get one ASAP. I have been in learning mode when it comes to the grooming requirements for long hair and discovered that the brush I was using, which had the metal balls on the tips, could cause damage to Lu's coat. I was a bit desperate to get a good brush as quickly as possible. I suspect I will be getting another in a different color in the not too distant future just in case anything tragic should happen to my lavender one. Always a good idea to have a spare or two hanging around anyway though. I wondered about the firmness of the oblong? How firm is it in comparison to the small oval lavender? I would get a soft full sized Maden brush if Lu were bigger but brushing her with a full sized brush isn't much fun for either of us. You say that the difference in firmness for all the colors of small oval Madan is pretty close to the same? Hmmm so many pretty colors!. . . . Oh, I should also mention that the 4.5" Madan face comb is wonderful too! I wondered if I would find it useful or not and I am so glad I decided to order it. Haven't used the tail comb that much yet but suspect it will be quite handy as well. Madan pin brushes and combs will now be staple grooming supplies at my house. It has been so helpful to be able to read reviews from other YT members and learn about the tools and products they use. |

The Oblongs are significantly firmer then the Small brushes, it's the lack of cushion space, the company told me they couldn't make those any softer. The padding is hard to press w/your fingers & I would recommend it to fur babies that tolerates brushing or those that do not tangle. Some people prefer the oblong shape over the ovals. It's narrow shape is excellent for line brushing & it's long enough to cover ample room. This brush will be a must have if you have a poodle & need to 'fluff' dry him/her.

Too bad that the oblongs are so much firmer. Makes sense though considering the difference in the design. I can see where that shape would be handy for some things but it's actually longer than the small oval and that brush is still plenty big for brushing Lu so I guess I'll stick with that size. I have to say that I am so impressed with how nice the small lavender oval is for brushing Lu. There is a marked difference in how she reacts to being brushed now compared to before. It's not that she is excited for it but she does seem to actually enjoy it instead of acting like she would like to be somewhere else. I had read somewhere on YT where somebody said they liked the Maden combs just as well as the Buttercombs. I have never used a Buttercomb but I'm sure impressed with the little Madan face comb. Sure a handy little thing, and glides through Lu's coat vey nicely. I had never heard of Maden brushes and combs until I read about them on YT. I was going to order a different brand until I read all the positive comments about the Maden brushes. I'm so very glad to have come across those comments. I'm thrilled with the small oval brush, the tail comb and the little face comb and as an added bonus the're even cute. | |

| We just got our oblong, thanks mimimomo It is perfect for Angel's soft soft fine hair. I like the firmer pins, they get out the tiny little knots. The shape is great for under her legs. One thing I really like better than the CC brush is the pins are much thinner. They seem to work through her hair better. Can't wait to use the bath products, I think they will help. Thanks!
