| I LOVE Victoria Stilwell! Here's her post on FB today: Victoria Stilwell Watching Super Tiny Animals on ITV2. This is disgusting. No responsible breeder breeds dogs this small or sells them to a pet store. Shame on them and the people who own the stores and sell these poor puppies. Unlike

| No idea but it's so nice to see someone with a loud voice in the dog world is supporting people making the right choices for animals despite it not being the "popular" opinion. Takes some cheeky-ness to do that in this social environment.

| ITV is definately hearing about airing it. They aired it back to back on ITV2 at 9pm and then on ITV2+1 at 10pm. They have received thousands of complaints about how irresponsible it is to air such a show, especially before Christmas when people may now get the bright idea to search out these minis for gifts. It's awesome though when public figures step up and add their voice to the crowd too.

| I love her too and enjoy her show. It is good she is speaking out against the trend to breed for tinies

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Do you really believe it's not the popular opinion? I never even thought of that, among people who know dogs, it sure seems to be the popular opinion. Not buying pets from pet stores doesn't seem controversial either. Maybe, I’m too use to reading YorkieTalk members opinions.

I actually argued with a woman that her ordered from online micro-mini dog didn't really come from the best breeder (who breeds hundreds of dogs so they sure know what they are doing...they were more concerned about health of her dog than conformity to those silly standards-yet she was strictly instructed to give her puppy antibiotics when it arrived via cargo-was told to always put Karo in it's drinking water, @ 8 weeks old it was determined to be breeding quality, would max out at about 2 pounds, if it died she'd get up to 2 replacement pups-oh and they were so great they gave her a beautiful rhinestone collar & matching leash to walk it on... It was actually AKC registered not CKC, but still WTH! All she had to do was pay with paypal in full & they'd send her via email a choice of flights, dates to pick it up from the airport...

But I agree with concrete, so many people think buying from show breeders is impossible, or get offended that they have to prove they are a worthy home to get one of their dogs. So many have the mentality, I have the money, I want it. Even if they don't have the money, geez! But my point is that they think they shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a dog from a show breeder or even rescue, they should get what they want when they want it. ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW!!! And back on topic, how many people think the micro mini googly eyed pups that look like their heads are about to explode from hydrocephalus think that is cute. Reminds me of the time I saw a youtube vid of a "breeder" advertising their microscopic shotglass yorkies, morkie, and maltese or whatever, and many people commented on their awfully small size, and thumbed down. There were other comments, several in fact, that stated something like, "How can you people thumb down these cute puppies, you guys are evil!" And they don't know the breeder of those pups is in fact the evil one. There is still a lot of work to be done.

Yup...that pretty much sums me up Hoop jumping gets my back up...it's almost like the reverse of "innocent until proven guilty" in that you are assumed not good enough unless you can prove otherwise.

Most often these people are strangers and we must screen thoroughly. I think we already live in a society of "guilty until proven innocent" in many senses. This is one case where it's for the better.

| I too hope the dogs often shown online etc are photo-shopped (the one of the stuffed animal was hilarious-it was a total scam but still funny) unfortunately they are sometimes real... I have to be totally honest when I first was looking for a rescue I was shocked that someone wanted to coem into my home to insect it adn observe me with the dog prior to rescue adoption approval I was really taken back -now I understand why. I made the mistake of buying dogs online private web site and having them flown to me-wow I wish I could to explain to people why you don't do it before they repeat my mistake.
