| Car Sick Pup..Anyone have this problem?? Hi! just wondering if anyone experienced their fur baby getting car sick. Ladybug didn't get sick when we drove her home (appox. 40 miles) for the first time. She first got sick coming from her first vet check up but I thought it was from her eating the deworming meds. The pet store visits are only about a 5 minute car ride so she's fine. The car ride going to get her immunizations were fine, but coming back she got sick again. I started to believe that its only when she gets shots she gets sick, but last week we drove to my sister's home about 8 miles and she got sick both coming and going. I would love to take her with me more but I hate to see her get sick and its not always fun cleaning up puppy barf either. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to help out my little lovely lady??

| Short trips increasing to longer trips and/or meds from your vet may help. If she vomited her deworming meds she should be rechecked and possibly re-medicated.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Poor kiddo. A few things that work for car sickness are ginger, benadryl, dramamine, melatonin. Maybe ask your vet about these. My Dad's dog has bad car sickness, and I think they had to go beyond the OTC meds and go to a prescription med...and now she does great .

| Callie used to get car sick as a puppy and no matter what I gave her it would still happen for the most part though she grew out of it mostly. Occasionally she gets sick now but most of the time not so much. Can your puppy see out of the window sometimes that can help.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Katie Scarlett has gotten car sick twice since we got her and both times I was holding her. When we put her in her Snoozer carseat, it was like a light went on for her...she never gets sick anymore. I think she just feels better in her carseat and doesn't feel the motion of the car as much. I was going to take all the advice that I read/heard on YT about taking her for short drives everyday, but once we got her carseat, our first drive was over 2 hours and she did fine. She now loves the car and knows if I get out her harness we are going on a ride. It has been our lifesaver. Sorry I could'nt give you more advice, but I'm a newbie to Yorkie mommyhood and this has just been my experience. I hope you guys can get over the car sickness. Poor little thing! Hugs going out to you guys!

| Sophie always got car sick so the vet gave her pills to take before a car ride and eventually she did not have to take them anymore.

| My lil Muffin got car sick when she was a puppy. Do short trips with her until she's used to the car. Motion sickness. Another thing you might want to try is not feeding her for a couple of hours before traveling in the car. It should pass. Muffin got over it and was never sick again. My lil Kacee was never car sick.

| Silver always got since in the car also but she's not so bad now. She's better when it's not a curvy road.

| Thank you everyone for your input. I did actually wonder if feeding her before going for a drive had anything to do with it. I do hope its something that she'll just grow out of but I'm glad to know there are some things she can take to help it. I'll be checking back in to let you all know how things turn out!! Thanks again
