| Boy or girl puppy? I'm trying to decide if I want a boy or girl. Whatever I pick will be spayed or neutered . I have a spayed 6 year chihuahua that needs a buddy. I am going to look at a 4 month male tomorrow but I think I would prefer a female ? Which makes the best pet? |

| Either one would make just as good a pet as the other!!! Yorkie, boys and girls, are the both great!! JUst find one that fits your family and gets a long well with your current pet.

| We only do girl pups. We have had much better luck with girl pups than we have boy pups. Both make good pets but we don't like the little "leg hikers" for just that reason. We have had too much trouble with the boys in the past. Girls seem to be easier and better for us.

| What sex is your current pup? I tend to like one of each and find that they get along better, that way you have the best of both worlds But I agree that the most important thing is that whatever pup you get fits in with and gets along with your current one, so I would set up a play date if you can before hand to see how they interact...and goodluck! I'm sure you will be happy with whatever choice you make, they are all so loveable, boy or girl!!

| Both are absolutely adorable!!! And both can be just as bad! It's up to you and your personal preference. I chose a boy cause I grew up with girl dogs. Everyone in my family has a girl dog - my mom, my sister, my aunt...it was time for a little boy baby in the family

| I like either. Boys are a pain at first because they are always trying to get on you, if you know what I mean....but it works out after you neuter. Right now I have two boys. My Nikita, RIP, was a girl and she was so super smart but so is ChiChi my older boy so, who knows I pick a dog that I feel great around when I go get one, boy or girl.

| Just a personal opinion..... I'd look at both males and females....don't just go for the very first one you see (unless you fall head-over-heels !!!) See which one comes to you All the dogs I've had....Females are more 'biddable' - Males are so scrummy for their mummy's. Having said that, Harry loves Andy more than me.... Sally + Harry x |

| on this topic Girl or boy, whenI got my first pup which was more then ten years ago I when to the breeder house and played with the pups.. the one that liked me the most I took home. It happened to be a little boy.. He was not the best looker out of the bunch but her was just perfect. As for Brandy My husband said he looked for personality and thought of how I was and he picked her not because she was female but because of personality...lol... I wish you luck... which ever you pick I'm sure you'll give it all the love it wants..

| I think it really all depends on the dog. Callie is pretty darn smart and very easy to train but can be stubborn. My moms yorkie Sammy (a boy) is just very chill and goes with the flow of things most of the time.

| I was always told boys were more affectionate and my two definately are very loving...but we have a 5 month old baby girl who is equally as affectionate...so there goes that theory!!!

| Thanks for all your input! My Chihuahua is a 6 year old girl. She is very needy and gives me "that look" every time i leave her. I wanted a friend for her so she would not be alone when I go out. I do not work so I am home most the time, but some days I have all day errands to run. The Yorkie I am looking at tomorrow (2 hour drive) was born July 22 - so he is 4 months. I like that he is older and maybe won't take as long to potty train. I was told he is paper trained. We have a doggie dog that my "Angel" used when she needs to go out. |

| I like boy dogs. Just a personal preference. Funnily enough, all the dogs that I dogsit are boys and only ONE of them lift their leg at all. Boston Terrier mix, two Goldens, one Rottweiler, one Lab, two Boxers, and a few others at some point that I've watched. One of the Boxers lifts his leg to pee (but not "mark") and that it!! LOL. It's so funny to have all these males that squat. All are neutered. Jackson was neutered at 7 months-ish and he still squats to pee but he will lift his leg outside at parks and stuff but never indoors. I just have better connections with boy dogs for some reason- grew up with females though, maybe that's why I prefer boys now?? But yeah, I think it's good to have 1 of each in general. Two females may fight, may not, but I think you lower the risk getting the opposite sex.

| I like girls myself, much easier when it comes time to potty train and when they do their business its all at once not 10 times.I almost kept a boy out of this litter I just raised but the more I watched him the more I realized a girl was better for me.Cao Mei is very tiny at 3.2 pounds and 1.5 years old and Jin Ju was evan at a puppy being too rough on her.So I choose YingTao and she is sweet and tiny and very girly like Cao Mei and they have already bonded
