| Not quite sure... I am contemplating giving Parker a 5 month old sister. She is a chihuahua and such a little cutie pie. Parker has been the only child and I dont know if adding to our brood is such a good idea. He is good with other dogs when we take him on walks and at our obedience classes, however, he is pretty possesive of his humans and I am afraid that he will be jealous if I bring home another pup. Some examples of his jealousy include: When I hug my boyfriend Parker starts jumping up and down barking because he isnt the center of attention, when I bring him to my parents house and pay any attention to their cat he jumps on top of her, and if I pick her up he jumps up and down barking as well. Should I just forget adding to our family due to his need to be the center of attention? |

| Think about it some more. I would only add to my family if I was 100% sure that was what I wanted. Dogs can and do adjust, to new family members.

| I would think it could work. From what you're telling me there might be some adjustments that only time will tell. If your dog is really possessive, there could be a lot of territorial marking. You might want to let your dog help in the selection. She might be able to pick a companion. |

| Ziva has a habit of being possesive/controlling. I thought a lot of it was boredom.I have tried to make sure I am not feeding Ziva's need to be so possesive and it is a constant struggle but I think I would focus on this first and pick a puppy with a easy going personality that isn't too needy.Abby has worked out great but it took a little looking around to find the right one. |

| i have a very possesive girl and when i brought cedric home it took her 2 months or so to adjust. i was very careful to keep her on the same walking schedule and do the things i would normally do with her. i still have to give her extra attention somedays but all in all i would do it agian. punkee princess and cedric have bonded and although she does not want to play puppy play most days because shes older she gives in and plays with him. it has actually made her more social and a better baby girl all the way around...=*(())
