| neuter?? What is the youngest age you can neuter a pup at? I want to neuter my 12 week old Carter, but i dont know if 12 weeks is too young? |

| I would ask your vet. My vet wouldn't do the procedure until Brutus was 6 months due to his size (5.5 lbs).

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Vets will do it that early, but it's better if you can wait until at least 6-7 months of age for the growth plates to close and also in case the pup has retained puppy teeth so he doesn't have to undergo a second surgery.

| My dog Barney was neutered very young but that was many years ago and vets around here seem to wait longer these days. So when I had Teddy neutered, I waited until he was about 6 months old and they took out his retained baby teeth at the same time.

| Many times the shelters will neuter dogs very young because they want to make sure the neuter gets done. However, I would wait until he is 6-7 months old. |

| This is also EXACTLY what my vet said - neuter, baby teeth removed and microchipped all at the same time. He also said dew claws removed but I declined that option after researching and getting opinions on YT.
