| need advice Every time the door bell rings and I'm standing up, the dog jumps up and bites me on the butt--nowhere else--ALWAYS the toosh. There are 3 other people living here and he only bites me. If he's not in the same room when the bell rings...he'll come running and bite me. He's drawn blood twice. I think some of this is my fault because I need to get to the door and see who is here instead of stopping to correct him. I have many times paused when he's come running and turned to him and stared him down...he wont bite me unless I turn my back to him to get the door. Im not exactly sure how to correct it or even why he might be doing it. Has anyone ever gone through this that might give me some clues. |

| BUTT BITING ? You have to teach the Yorkie this is not a fun game. Not for him and not for you. If this is not aggression biting this lesson will work; Get some friends to help. Set them up at 5 minute intervals to ring the door bell. Put a leash on the Yorkie. When the Bell rings make him walk to the door with you. Read the 5 options and chose the one, that you think will work for your dog. I can not watch him in action so don't know which will work best for him. Dogs learn differently because of age, personality, prey drive etc.. If he tries to nip you can do : 1. a stomp and say NO ! 2. Say NO and spray him with a quick squirt of water. 3. Have him sit, stay, then treat. Keep him in front of you. 4. Make two big paper eyes and put them on your butt ( I haven't tried this but, it works with mountain lions I read a study about ways to prevent attacks from bears and mountain lions. 5. Walk to the door side ways and carry two rolled up socks or two toss pillows to throw at him if he tries to butt bite. Hope one of these ideas work for you. Let us know what happens. Good Luck
