Update- EWW! Took an "emergency" run to Harris Teeter's to go get some pumpkin and cut green beans. Bailey ate up the pumpkin! She is now sleeping in her little diaper until it all clears up. She went poop on our walk about 1 hour ago... BIG poop, but very very loose stools. Very watery. Gave her a tablespoon of pumpkin and I'm going to let her digest and then take her on another walk so she can poop it all out and all this gross stool crap can come out. . Thanks for everyone's help with my boo boo bear! Hope she is ok!

I hope Bailey is feeling much better! You may wan't to google how much of the pumpkin to give her and how many times a day etc. I don't remember the amounts for all, just remember how much for Penny my mini doxie. Mojo is about 1/2 her size so I give him half of what she takes. It may take a little time to regulate her. If I can find the site, I'll post back what I find. You did get the right kind of Pumpkin, the 100% pure? What kind of store is Harris Teeter? Never heard of them. Then again, not much around my neck of the woods anyway, hahaha! I had never heard of a PUBLIX until one came to a neighboring city I visit once in awhile. Your so welcome and hope it clears up soon! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family!

| It is sounding like she made need to be checked out by a vet sense it keeps happening. Pumpkin may regulate her poo but I don't think its going to fix your problem.

100% pumpkin! Well it only started last night at about 9ish, and first it was A LOT. And then the second time last night wasn't so much, 3rd time was this morning... barely. Fourth was when we were on our walk and it was dripping a little from when she pooped(bad pood, drippy,a lot) and then I cleaned her up and fed her pumpkin and I haven't seen any oily butt since. Hope it clears! I'm going to giver her till tommorow night to see if it's gone... I emptied her anal glands at home, and some came out... not a lot(this morning and once last night) HOPE it's all gone. I will take her to the vet this weekend if it hasn't gone away. Anymore advice is great! Thanks for everyone's help! P.S.- She isn't in pain I know that for a fact. She went on a walk this morning and she just ran like 2 miles in the back yard with the kids chucking the football and her running as fast as she could. She did this like 30 times! She is sleeping like a baby now!

Keep us updated on how she's doing! No, I wouldn't think that pumpkin would cure any major problems, but if I'm getting this right, this is the first time it's happened? I would take her to the vet if it keeps up as you never know if she may have developed an infection. The glands are usually expressed by a firm stool, not rock hard, just a normal firm stool and if it's too soft, the glands don't get expressed and you will start to see the dog scooting it's rump along the floor trying to do it themselves. The pumpkin will help regulate the stool and if there's no more oozing, the area is not swollen and the dog stops scooting and seems fine, then it may have been a one time thing. If it continues to go on, there's something else causing it and a vet is the one to help you get her fixed up. The pumpkin is not a cure all, just a suggestion that may help a little. Hope she's all better now!

I don't think it has, lol. I was just checking to see how she was doing. I've been down and out with a bad shoulder for a week now and have not kept track with some of the threads. I just wanted to make sure she knew the pumpkin wouldn't cure an infection or anything and that a vet is the best thing to do if she still has troubles, or it happens again. My mom had a boston terrier that had them get clogged and then infection and I know it can get bad sometimes.

Bailey is MUCH better! No more oily butt, thank God! I think that was the grossest thing to date that I have done with her since I have had her. Pumpkin did help... I think her stool wasn't hard enough and she was haveing issues. She is better and I think that every 3-6 months we will get her glands expressed just in case. Something I never want to do again. Pumpkin firmed her stool up and made the anal gland issue go away. In about a 24 hour period, I gave Bailey one full bath's and 4 butt baths! Thanks for everybody's great advice! I don't know what I would have done without everyone!!
