| Hi everyone,I'm new and just readopted a yorkie...mix maybe? Hi everyone. I just found this site and I'm hoping you can help me. I have a 1 year old dog that I bought from a local yorkie breeder that also happened to be a long time family friend. I bought her for someone in my family and have since in the last week reacquired her since she had spent much of the last six months outside with them and they were moving. So I'm working on potty training her and getting her to calm down a bit... she is really sweet though and loves my kids! I was sold the dog as a Yorkie but everyone has questioned this ever since I had got her for them. I'm just interested in finding out what she might be. I know I've read that Yorkies come in all shape and sizes - but something seems like it *might* be off and I just keep hoping that this 'friend' didn't try to pull a fast one on me! My dog is probably 12-14lbs, and she has a wire'y type coat. She is mostly black with some lighter brown/other shades in her coat. Her torso is long and so is her snout. Her ears are not up and seem a little bigger then nearly all Yorkies I've seen. Her face does not look like a Yorkie. Does this seem like she is mixed to you? I spent a good portion of yesterday cutting matts off of her long coat. She will be taking a trip to the groomer soon to get prettied up and fix the rest of her coat. Her coat does seem shinier where the new fur is? I will get you a pic once she gets groomed because right now her over all look is rough. I just wanted to say HI and that I will probably be around and have more questions in the future... I love reading and looking at all the cute yorkies here! |

| Welcome to Yt. My Brutus is not 100% yorkie, but sure looks like one - EXCEPT for his body coat. He has about 25% Pom in him and although his face lookd like a yorkie and is silky, his body is not. His body fur is more wirey and lighter than a true yorkie. It doesn't really matter to me that he is a mut as I brought him home as a pet not to breed or show. I am sure you will love her no matter what she is. Where in IN are you?

| A picture is needed. Be sure to get your baby to the vet for a checkup and check with the breeder about her shots, heartworm preventative, etc.
