| My Yorkie is so timid I have a 2yr old yorkie he is so frightened when i want to take him out for walks, he doesn't like big trucks, or noises, there is a new housing area going on further over than our place and there are graders clearing the land, Yorky does not like the noise and he just wont walk. We have also got a jack russell and he doesn't mind noises at all, he is just interested in going for his walks. What can I do? Last edited by skiyorky; 11-10-2011 at 01:07 PM. So many dogs can be fearful of loud noises. Try walking your Yorkie away from the large noises. Also look at buying a Thundershirt. I will try to find a link to a website that talked about desensitizing your dog to loud noises.

| My 2yr old is the same way. We have had her since she was 12 weeks and she, by nature it seems, is very timid and fearful. She loves every dogs but is very submissive. Loud noises and she shakes like a leaf. It is very sad to me but I just try to limit her from frightening experiences as much as I can. |

No he was not a rehome yorkie, we have had him since he was about 10 weeks old, and I know that the breeder was a good one but although Yorkys mum and dad never had this problem Yorky seems to have it, Yorky is part yorkie, and part long haired silky x chiuwawa. Yorky gets frightened from the time I get him outside our front door, because we have a view of the housing area, plus hear the noise from that time. I have never heard of a Thundershirt Thanks for your reply, Leone | |
