| Brandi's Dental Well my poor baby is at the vet's office getting her last 4 remaining teeth pulled. The vet just called and said it looks like they will need to be extracted. Her tongue will probably hang out for the rest of her life but I don't mind because she is just so darn cute with her tongue out. For those of you who don't know Brandi was a rescued used for breeding. My the time I got her at 7 yrs old her teeth were so bad that 25 of them had to be pulled. So all she had left were the 4 front teeth and they told me then that someday they would have to come out eventually. She is now 11 and will be toothless. So all she had left were the 4 front teeth and they told me then that someday they would have to come out too. Anyway she is still on the table and doing fine. The vet called to get permission to proceed with the extraction. She was hoping that they could be just cleaned but they were too far gone. Poor baby....she will get some extra, extra love and kisses tonight. Last edited by yavenay; 11-02-2011 at 06:46 AM. |

| Thanks......I kinda think she rescued me as well. She came at the perfect time in my life. Because she has had such a rotten life I made a promised to her that she would be the most well loved and spoiled yorkie ever. I think I kind of created a spoiled diva but who cares.....she deserves it. |

| I'm sorry Brandi has to lose her last 4 teeth. My childhood yorkie had no teeth when she was an old lady and she was ok. We just fed her canned food Actually, by the end she was blind and deaf, and had no teeth, but she was loved very much. It sounds like your Brandi is very loved. And she is lucky to have you!

| Thanks everyone. I am sitting here at work waiting patiently to hear from the vet. The same vet that pulled her 25 teeth is doing the dental today so I'm not too worried. You should of seen her this morning. She just could not understand why I couldn't feed her this morning. Our normal routine is I get up go potty, go downstairs and feed the babies but this morning she would look at me, then her bowl then back at me. It was so funny she was like " where is my breakfast". She is gonna be starving when she gets home. |

| Vet just called and Brandi is doing fine. She is actually awake and probably wondering where the h*ll she is. The vet will give me some anti-biotics and some pain meds but for the most part she came through with flying colors. I'll pick her up after work. The plus side is I DON"T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT HER TEETH ANYMORE . No more dentals for this little girl. |

| I'm glad she came through it well. After all that she's been through, I think she definitely deserves all of that spoiling.

My Willow (6yrs old) who I adopted last November also has only 4 teeth left as well. She was a breeder girl and of course teeth weren't on the breeders list they cared for. I know she will one also have to have those 4 big ones out some day. So far they are doing fine, she just had her check up.
