Senior Yorkie Talker | Do you all think like me or is it just me? My sister wants me to get shock collers for my dogs... Nicky 8 pounds and Rocky 13 pounds he is a shih-tzu I refuse to do it, one Nicky and ALL yorkie's have delicate necks and you have to put those things on tightly!! and 2 I LOVE my dogs and PAY attention to them and they aren't out all day long like hers are... it just ticks me off am I right to think that way, or am I all alone in how I think? |

| I will get BANNED if I say what I really think here. Here's my thought tell your sister to keep her thought to herself. If she doesn't like it put a shock collar on her bark at he when she fails to understand what your bark means shock her bark at her again when she fails to understand what your bark means shock her again. NOw realize you need to demonstrate what your barking means: bark at her when she fails to do it you got it shock her again now when she performs the based on the type of bark well TOO BAD it wasn't fast enough shock her again! Oh it's just a boundary electric fence-even freaking better (do you hear my sarcastic tone) Oh a no bark static collar-reread my post Now expect her to not only completely obey you but to give you unconditional love

| PO - You are clearly supported in your thinking! Would never consider a shock collar -- what is the behavior that your sister thinks your dogs need a shock collar for????

Senior Yorkie Talker | OMG I thought that I was the only one that thought that... that my sister NEEDED the collar!! I pitty her dogs... The only attention they get is from me and I can only do so much... Id adopt them but I don't like big dogs, she has 2 labs. they are both starved for attention!! |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you all... Thank you all for your thoughtful replies... I agree with the shock collar for my sister... maybe then she might just see how the dogs feel... This will really make your days... A few weeks ago Nicky got out and I freaked out she said... "Oh calm down, Nicky is just a dog not a child" I was royally ticked when she said that.. my dogs ARE and always will be my children!! It just royally ticks me off to no end when she says that. Oh well hes just a dog then lets not go outside and look for him at all then, hes disposable right.. WRONG!!!! I can't have kids so my dogs rapidly filled that void and to tell me not to panic is like telling me not to panic over a lost kid! I am going to snap someday and tell her off and it wont be pretty either!! |

| I don't think they should be allowed to sell them. Maybe you should tell her, lets just strap one on you and see how you like it. To me and some may disagree but I think its abuse. |

| I have children but my pet is important to me as well. A dog is not just a dog. They are a part of your family. Actually when the kids are too busy for you that furbaby is always there. I think a shock collar is cruel. |
