| Top knots How in the world do you get yours to sit still long enough? I'm trying to do a top knot in Bentley and the little devil will not sit still lol Anyone have any tips or tricks?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey's breeder gave me a little bone pillow and told me to have him lie his head on it when doing top knots. I had a baby brush and I brush his forehead and he lies his head down on the pillow. We started slowly and he'd be given treats (cherrios) for lying still. It was fairly easy to teach and he's learned to be very patient with me. It's combing the mustache that he hates!

| Practice with your pup when he is tired, drained of energy. The first week that I worked with Max, I thought we would never succeed. He quickly learned that he had to have his top knot done if he wanted to go outside for a walk. Tying it with something desirable helped.

| I have always had Kacee sit in a chair. In fact, if I forget to get a band, she'll sit there and wait until I come back to put it in.

| Practice, practice, patience and practice! Lol, I agree with waiting until your baby is tired. A little trick i learned when mine were pups was to lay her on my lap, and have them facing awsy from me. They tend to wiggle much less when you're not working on it with your hands in front of their face.

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I need to go ahead and start practicing with Katie Scarlett. She is a fesity thing, so I'll take that 'waiting until she is tired' advice and try that.

| I agree. I put Ahi in my lap facing away from me. She early on realized that if she sits still and let me fuss with putting in her knot it will all be over quicker. lol

| Thanks everyone. This little booger is not having it right now lol. I will have to keep working with him. I had a really cute "boy" bow picked out and he let me know real quick what he thought about that. He took off with it and his it in his bed.... Lil stinker!
