| Meds after dental?? Just came back from picking up Chloe and Smokey from the vet. They both did great. However i found it surprising that Chloe got sent home with 2 meds (amoxy drops and ketoprofen syrup) when she just had a dental only, and Smokey was sent home with just the ketoprofen syrup when he had a neuter. Is this normal?

| I'm not familiar with the syrup, but Max had just a pain med after neuter/baby teeth removed. No antibiotic. If Smokey had diseased teeth removed, I'm wondering if he should have an antibiotic. Glad the kiddies are home with you and that all went well.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Meds. are probably a good thing if they are an antibiotic. I have a Sheltie and when she had some teeth pulled she had a bacteria shower and went septic. It was aweful. He did recover but it was awhile.

| Thanks for the update. Can't say about the meds. But giving an antibotic makes sense. Glad they are safe at home. Feel better soon Smokey and Chloe.

| Smokey just had the ketoprofen, which I just googled is a pain medication. The amoxy drops is the antibiotic. Why would they give Chloe the antibiotic when she only had the dental and no extractions? Smokey only had one extraction. Do you think they mixed them up. I will have to call them in the morning and ask. Thank god they didn't try to neuter Chloe OMG. They also forgot to cut Chloe's nails So I have to bring her back in. Well I have to bring them in anyway to put in their microchips.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | So glad it went well. I am not sure why they would give meds for a cleaning. Just doesn't make sense to me. I am with you, give them a call. Let us all know what they say. Have a wonderful evening and give your babies a hug for me.
