| OMG Help! I currently have a 8 month old Yorkie and I have a friend who needs to find a home for a 9wk old Blue Merle Pomerania. I'm very interested in getting him his parents are AKC and she will sell him with papers for $100 or give him to me for free with no papers. My concern is Secret (My Yorkie) I don't want him to feel different because there is a new furbaby in the house. I'm also concern cause Secret is only 3.8 pounds this new pup could be any where between 10 and 13 pounds. I want him but Secret is my heart and I want to make the right choice cause Secret's happiness and well being comes 1st.

| Well if there is any way you can get secret around the new baby (just to see how he acts around him)... that would be very good. But you always have to be careful in introducing new dogs... How is secret with bigger dogs? and if you are really wanting to get a new baby just don't expect a miracle to happen overnight... it takes time... sometimes a short amount and sometimes a long amount... We got Max about 2 months ago (we have a bichon frise who has been an only dog for 4 years) and she is still getting used to him... But its good that you are putting secret's feelings first!!!

| I think we humans make matters worse sometimes and if you just let the two dogs interact without all your fear they will probable surprise you. I bet Secret would love a puppy playmate. Why not ask your friend if you can try them together for a week and see how it goes? With mine I was very worried about introducing Bambi, and at first Barley tried to carry her around in his mouth, but I told him no and now they all play together like she's always been here. You have to post pictures if you get the new pup too

| Most dogs appreciate having another dog around once the adjustment is over. Years ago we had a Yellow Lab and a Maltese at the same time. The only time we had a slight problem was when we would come home and they both came to greet us at the door. Sometimes the Lab would accidentally step on the Maltese in his rush to beat her to the door. She would then growl and bite the Lab's ankle for being so careless. They never really hurt each other it was more about who was going to get petted first. |

| That's what I was thinking. won't your landlady mind a second dog? She already bent the rules for you once, she might not be willing to do it again.

| Just called Landlord and she said yes but another pet deposit. So I'm have to say NO to another furbaby! Thanks for all the great advice for when ever I do decide on a playmate for Secret.
